Well my personal experience with hundreds of cases leaves me with one impression.

Lian-Li makes the best cases...From their elegant looks, build quality, fit, finish and cooling they are my weapon of choice when building a new box.

My favorite case right now is this Lian-Li PC-7B Plus. I must admit I like the new Chenbro Gaming Bomb II...But their PC Power & Cooling pricing is just not justified in my humble opinion.

Every time I build myself a box using a Lian-Li it gets bought out from under me.

For me anyway, Lian-Li is head and shoulders above the competition.

I not posting this to bash Lian-Li but I find their product lacking in some key areas. The V series of cases are nicely constructed but I'm not a fan of the airflow path. Specifically, they use a 120mm fan and the power supply in the bottom compartment when the only thing to cool down there is the hard drives. The entire upper compartment then relies on the other 120 which gets taxed more than it should; hot processors and video cards dump major heat into this compartment with only one fan to get it out. No huge issue mind you but clearly not the best set up in my opinion. Another thing lacking in the V series is some sort of dust filtering system. For $200 I expect more features like this.

The regular PC-60 and variants are a more conventional layout and are nicely built but they lack features and are made of thin aluminum. Features that are lacking include soft mount hard drive grommets, soft mount fan grommets, clip-in optical drive attachment, and a latching side door of some type. The thin aluminum is nice for those that move their case around a lot but for those of us that don't Lan party, the thin metal side panels tend to vibrate and make noise. Despite these limitations, I do think they are nice cases. The revised models using 120mm fans ar very nice, I only wish they were made of thicker metal especially on the side panels. I?m actually thinking of getting one and adding a layer of foam to the side panels to add some damping. If only they made a steel version, I?d be all over it.

Just my opinion, yours may vary which is fine.

You should look closer. Mine is hard-anodized, not painted. 1st gen Lian-li cases sucked. I read one review that couldn't have been worse. They were poorly fitted and very easy to damage. The 2nd gen cases got it right in terms of construction, but were limited in terms of air-flow. I compensated for this by getting all the stamped grills removed and a 120mm blow hole cut.

That you'd take your present case over a LL case isn't as bad a thing as you seem to think it is. Like most circumstances, it's a matter of taste and what we each have to spend. For me, $300 was nothing for a case that I liked, wanted and knew would last me through at a least a rew refits.

Quality, Quality, Quality. Removable motherboard tray, removeable hard drive cage, Power Supply support rails, good cable management systems and good quiet fans come with any case you buy from them.

When you have twelve grand of computer equipment to house, a paltry two and a half bones is nothing for a case worthy of it.
PC-V2100B is the definitive tower like the Enlight EN-8950 is the definitive rackmount.

Ahh the V1200 cases have no removable mb tray (I think all of the V series as well) and there is a LOT of steel on the case. Also there have been some interesting QC issues regarding screws, poor machining, re-work, and poor finishing lately. Check out this thread for more Li-Li fun.

Thier quality has gone down hill big time. Lucky the store gave me a refund on my 1100B.

They have turned into the hummer H2 of computer cases.

I have a Lian Li PC61 case. Removable everything and I am more then ahppy with the quality of it and I am picky mofo when it comes to quality!

It is light and the finish is second to none. Very good. Even though I'm not gonig to be moving it about a lot

Still loving my V-1000. Although I do agree the upper compartment could use a bit more cooling, it doesnt bother me too much. The onlly thing I would want to change, honestly is to get rid of all but one or two of the front 5 1/2 inch bays. It looks really slick as it is, but getting rid of the empty drive bays would make it look even better. I dont know why they didnt work in some sort of removeable motherboard tray into this beast, that would have been a nice addition that most other cases in its price range have.

Many people find my case (and my old PC-60) a bit bland, but I love them. I guess its why I love Apple stuff so much, too. Very simple, very functional, very high quality. No extra frills and blinking lights and excessive amounts of fans.
