depends. I used to go to this one barbershop run by two brothers in their 50's. I used to love talking to them about anything and everything - cars, chicks, school, movies, etc. I moved to another area now and go to another barbershop staffed with mostly young hispanic guys. Even though the newer guys are closer to my age, I just dont seem to click with them...maybe I don't know them well enough yet, but most probably because they talk in spanish amongst each other and I can't understand them. They cut hair just as well, but i prefer a silent haircut in the new salon

I honestly do not care about my hair, and as such I get it cut at Great Clips . Every time I go in the stylist always wants to chat me up and it ends up being an awkward silence. Just cut my damn hair, lady. I'd tip them extra to not say a word except "How would you like your hair cut?"

Do you attempt to fade the hair around your ears/back of neck? If so, how do you do it accurately?

I use #3 for the front/top of head, #2 for fading the top into the sides/back, and #1 for tapering around ears and hairline in the rear.

When tapering the top/sides it's all about holding the angle correctly. For the hairline I hold the razor perpendicular and rotate the razor about an axis, it's all about the supination. Wrist movement and not arm movement is your friend when doing the hairline.

I don't. I have a brother that speaks spanish fluently, it is extremely common for spanish speakers to make fun of non-spanish speakers in spanish.

(However, strangely enough they love you even when you spout out the most basic of spanish sentences. 'Tengo el gato en mis pantalones.')

lol, sort of. I've had five operations on my right shoulder so I got pretty good at using my left hand. In fact, it was back in the early 90's when I was learning autocad and had to use the mouse with my left hand. To this day I use the mouse with my left hand even though I am right handed.

P.S. It sure comes in handy when IV's need to be started in awkward positions and I need to use my left hand.

i get paid weekly.


i dont generally lie about what i make, its not the greatest salary but it works for me. i dont discuss money with people tho, so that part never is an issue. i have a friend that is a hair dresser, she has all kinds of regulars that come in with brag stories. she also has a few freaky weird dudes that bug her. she brings it all herself tho, she has huge titties and wears cleavage shirts/ dresses all the time. it gets her more tips.

i dont care if they talk, ive found that if they are totally silent it is unnerving. makes me feel like they are having a bad day and shouldnt be putting sharp instruments near my head.

I prefer not to talk about my profession very often, especially with my hairdresser, partly because a) much of what I do could very well come across as significantly boring to most people, and b) as soon as the word "psychology" comes out, all sorts of potential liability issues and/or over-disclosures usually occur.

I know a guy that goes to parties (he's liek 70) and will introduce himself as a whole wide range of people. The best was a college professor with a British accent. he;ssuch a good talker though (real estate salesman and ex IBMer) that peopel take it hook line and sinker.
