I'm curious to see how this plays out. What are the objectives to this no fly zone?
Obama warns him not to kill "civilians" What are civilians? How are rebels fighting against Libyian forces deemed to be civilians?
Wouldn't Afgani and Iraqi 'rebels' fighting against their (new) governments and coalition troops therefor be civilians too? (We've been calling them "enemy combantants")
Is the Obama admin (and the Dems/liberals) creating some confusing policy here? How do these two things mesh?
If Obama intends to disquinish between rebels and non-rebel civilians, how will we be able to tell the difference between the two? Libyian troops will say they were rebels, rebels will say they were civilians. Sounds like a mess to me.
I understand the optics of just sitting around while these rebel/civilians are slaughtered by bombers etc. But Libyian troops have tanks and artillery. Is it bad when they are blown up by aircraft, but OK if it's tanks/artillery? If so, why?
If Libyia forgoes jets and just uses tanks/artillery, are we gonna have to step in to stop that too? If not, why not? Wouldn't we look hypocritical if we allowed it?
If Khadaffy is overthrown, who's next in line? If we don' know, why bother? I think it fantastic to believe they would turn to democracy, or could even manage it.

When peoples of other countries become unhappy with their government and rulers, It's not our responsibility to go in and fix it for them. It's a thankless job too. I really don't see what's in this for us.
