Looks promising so far but the preview made it look like they added a love story which did not at all exist in the book. Also, I'm worried about how they're gonna stay faithful to how the book ended.

I also LOVED the book. I hope they can pull off the metaphors about religion and let the viewer make his/her own mind as in the book

SPOILERS:

Saw this movie a few nights ago at a special prescreening. I knew nothing about it prior. It started out slow (I don’t normally like Indian movies) and never got any better. The whole idea of surviving for weeks on a life raft with a real tiger was ridiculous. I also don’t like movies that the majority of the movie is just one actor. Basically, they live in India running a zoo. The family decides to move to I believe Canada with some of the animals. During transit, the boat sinks. The teenage boy saves the zebra, orangutan, hyena, and tiger. The Hyena kills the zebra, the orangutan kills the hyena, and the tiger kills the orangutan. Then the bonding between the boy and tiger goes on for the next hour or so. I didn’t find it very realistic. Hopefully, they will fix the movie before it actually goes to press. And yes, the boy was saved at the end but when he was telling his story about what happened in the movie, it was so unbelievable, he had to lie about what happened because it was not believable. Yes, it was not really believable in the movie or the audience.

Just looked it up and thought the same thing when I saw 'published in 2001'. It's scary to think that a 10 year old in 2001 would be 21 now! Man I'm getting old.

it sure pissed me off. i guess if you like 2001 space odyssey, this is the perfect movie for you.

Yeah, I'm not sure he actually saw it. If he did, then he didn't even come close to understanding it.

It seems like something somebody would repeat off the Wikipedia synopsis if they read it like, six months ago and then tried to remember. It almost seems like drunk movie review.
