This book is more about taking advantage of the century hype in the popular press and less about 'our century in pictures.' Even if coverage of the 20th century went through 1999 (it doesn't) this book would still be one year short of covering the 20th century. The fact that the publishers could not wait until the end of the century to produce 'our century in pictures' calls into question the integrity of the publisher and the book.

This book is so heavy not only is it not eligible for free shipping @ amazon they tack on an additional shipping surcharge of $1.40!

I ordered mine a few days ago. I have seen these at the store and they are nice books. Great for a coffee table or a gift for those people who are impossible to shop for. I am not sure where the deals get started iwearnosox but you are right the deals spread like wildfire once they are posted. I saw this on Ben's site first but in the end who cares where you hear about it...you still get the same great deal. I however should stop buying things. I think I spent about $1500 last month on deals from this forum

Careful...I ordered both of these from Barnes and Noble several days ago...They arrived on Monday. Or rather, I should say that two copies of Century of Change arrived. One copy was incorrectly stickered with the "Our Century in Pictures" price/UPC code that Barnes and Noble uses. I wouldn't be surprised to find stacks of incorrectly stickered copies in the B&N warehouse...Surely an honest mistake brought about by the fact the books are so similarly named. But nonetheless a hassle...They are supposedly now going to send me a replacement copy of Our Century in Pictures. Hopefully they'll get it right this time...

I received two copies also. Talked to BN today and they said they would send out a prepaid cover for returning one of the books. After which they will credit the amount and then go ahead and place the order for the second book.

i talked to phone support today as well
the guy said i coudl take it into a b&m and exchange it
or if that doesnt work call back and they would send me a prepaid address label for me to return and exchange it

i went into a b&m b&n today to try to exhcnage my book
they didnt have any in stock, but said they had 12 on order and put me on reserve. in th emeantime, they let me keep the book (or i couldve returned it for store credit) until they call me about the aviablility
i got them to verify that they would do it in writing, so i wont hit any issues w/ 30 day return later
