omg man, YES. Just watch it with the perspective that it is 1995 or whatever year it came out...and be amazed. It's like the first high production popcorn style monster movie.

Yes it is actually if you never have.

I remember when it came out and I convinced the wife to go see it opening day at a theater when she didn't want to and she became a big fan more than I on the later ones.

That movie came out in 1993. I was 10 years old. I tripped out on the CG/puppet dinosaurs. They still look convincing to this day. The effects have really held up. Watch this movie. Also, if you've never seen Terminator 2 (1991), watch that too.

You should also see Jurassic park: Lost world and Jurassic Park 3. The first is the best though.

Movie was good. I never seen it in the theater which would have been even better. But I did see Independence Day in the Theater and it was awesome! That and Twister back in the day. Now, I think the last good movie to see in a theater was Gravity.

Jurassic park 2 for Super Nintendo was awesome and had some of the best music comparable to Donkey Kong.

I recall my wife insisted on letting our older daughter watch it (she was 5) and then being woken up in the middle of the night for weeks because the "mommy-dinosaur" was outside her window!

Speaking of not having seen old movies I watched Independence Day day a while back, for some reason I had never seen it.

Yup, ID4 in the theater is a different movie than at home.

I got that same feeling from Gravity. I think the movie was intended to immerse you in a feeling of isolation that is somehow enhanced by Imax and murdered by the house plants to the left and the photos of your kids on the right of my TV at home.
