jurassic park is one of my favorite movies to this day. the 3d remake they put out is also one of the best 3d films out there. it's crazy how a movie that is over 20 years old can still hold up the test of time when it comes to special effects. you can't really say that about many movies.

This scene alone was well worth it

He said park...not bark.

Ohh yeah... I went to Universal Orlando a few years back. The Islands of Adventure had a whole center that looked like the Jurassic Park welcome center. My wife and I were watching this guy with a lab coat with about 10 kids in front of him gathered around an incubator filled with fake dinosaur eggs. One of them started moving like the scene from the movie....it started hatching and the guy asked, "Does anyone know what kind of eggs these are...?" My wife spoke up and said, "Velociraptor!" The kids were in awe and I think a few thought it was real.

One of the few movies involving special effects who stood the test of time.

Watch all three of them, in order. Then go back and watch 1 again and appreciate how awesome it is.

Then also watch 2 and 3 again and realize that they are better the second time around b/c your expectation for them has changed and you now understand that 2 and 3 are lesser in quality than 1, and you will actually enjoy them more.

So it appears he never came back. Dude must have started watching and crapped his pants. To ashamed to come back and post about it.

It won't be as impressive as it was when it was released. The dino fx was mind blowing. But then there is stuff like this:

Every time I see that movie, I'm thinking, "The mail never stops" with Newman holding the Barbasol can.

I must have seen them all. When living in California we went to Universal Studios and that bastard scared the crap out of me.
I saw it in the theater with my sister (older) when it was re-released in 1980, I was nine. I seem to recall it was a double feature, showing Jaws and Jaws 2 (both re-released), like they used to do with the Star Wars films. Those were the days, eh?

Scared the hell out of me. I had nightmares about sharks. We had a pool built during the same summer, and when I was swimming in the pool by myself, I would think about those scenes of a shark stalking a swimmer from behind, my imagination would start to take over, and I would actually scare myself into believing a shark could be behind me. I would swim as fast as I could to the side of the pool and scurry out, then laugh at myself about it.

In fact, I still have an infrequent nightmare about being in the open water, like after your boat sinks or something, and a shark stalking me. 34 years later!

I remember setting up some equipment for a guy who was a big home theater buff (equipment wasn't HT related). It was right around dusk, and he had Jurassic Park going in his house with some killer subs. I was quite a ways away from his house (at least 150 feet or so), outside, and it was still intense during the T-Rex scene.

Brought back so many memories.

Saw in the theater. Great movie and works well even today. I'd say it's the perfect example of special effects and specifically CGI used correctly. It's light years more real and intense than anything which has come from Michael Bay or George Lucas (recently).

I watched it for the first time in 2012 and thought it was really good. Love me some Jeff Goldblum.

HOW DID YOU WAIT SO LONG?!

Anyway, I don't understand the people in this thread recommending the sequels. The sequels were really bad.

I wonder if the new one they're working on will be a prequel?
