light storage

I was wondering can light bulbs be stored on there sides? A lot of small package of light bubls in one big box ,will gravity bend or wreck the filament inside the bulb, for long time storage? like in the picture?, but the bulbs are in there own packages.

Not only should light bulbs NEVER be stored or used in a horizontal position like that, they SHOULD ALWAYS be stored and used in their natural position...with the base up.

Filament bulbs are pretty tough, there's a good chance you haven't ruined them yet. You should remember to rotate your fluorescent tubes a quarter turn every three months.

That depends on if you're in the northern or southern hemisphere. The general rule in light-bulb rotation is to use your toilet bowl water direction as a guide.

I find that the new LEDs don't stimulate the prostate like the classic filament bulbs do.

Silly bastage...if you store them in that orientation, all the lumens will leak out.

You need to get the ones with the big heat sink. Just make sure you sand them down a little as sometimes the edges are sharp.

As a side note I really like the light the old style Christmas bulbs produce, but they burn out so much. Every year I end up changing like half the bulbs. I finally switched to LED but I find because they put in low end LEDs they're just not as bright. Would be nice if they put like 5x modules per bulb instead of just one or just use some higher quality COBs. Open source RGB addressable ones would be nice too. Open source being the key word. They do make some addressable ones but they rely on some app. Will that app still get updated in 10 years from now? Probably not.

I like the *really old* painted c7 lamps. They looked great but you had a real risk of burning your house down with them due to heat, not to mention energy use. I don't know what the wattage was, but I'd bet it was at least 15w/lamp.
