No one mentioned The Ramones?

Most of the other bands I like have been mentioned. I recently found a band from London that I like called TAT. I have one of their EP's, but I don't have their debut album Soho Lights yet. It just came out at the end of October.

I also had the chance to see them in concert a few weeks ago, and they were great live!

Good call. I actually saw them play a reunion show last year and they were great.

I was an avid punk rock kid in the mid-80s, and went to literally hundreds of all-ages shows, seeing pretty much all of the best bands of that era. My favorites (I saw all of them live except for Minor Threat), among many others, include:

The Minutemen
Bad Brains
Naked Raygun (I am actually visible in the Vanilla Blue video, which is a live performance)
Big Black
Die Kreuzen
Husker Du
The Misfits
Minor Threat
Halo of Flies
The Meatmen
Samhain
DOA
The Descendents (my back appears in the photo from the cover of their live album, taken at First Ave here in Mpls)
The Avengers
Black Flag
Dead Kennedys
early Butthole Surfers
UK Subs
MIA
Killdozer
GBH
The Exploited
The Vandals
Loud Fast Rules/early Soul Asylum

I also love the Stooges (I consider this punk even though it came years earlier), the Clash, the Buzzcocks, the Saints (from Australia, and definitely the most underrated early punk band), Stiff Little Fingers (actually saw them live on a reunion tour in about 1988), the Ramones, and a lot of other early punk stuff.

Great list.. *breaks out Zen Arcade*

I'm going to see Reel Big Fish in January in Wisconsin, I'm fucking pumped. I went to one of there concerts about 6 years ago and it was amazing.

Besides ska not being punk, my favorite ska bands are the Slackers, the Toasters, the Pietasters, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Streetlight Manifesto. Old Less Than Jake (Borders and Boundaries and before) were awesome (Anthem/B-Sides was mediocre, and after was pretty shitty).

As far as favorite punk bands: Flogging Molly, Lagwagon, Dropkick Murphys, Bad Religion

Definitely Reel Big Fish for ska. Love them

They used to be good, but now they suck big time.

Bands like Dropkick? You could try Flogging Molly.

QFT. Reel Big Fish is awesome. Going to see them in January here in Philly. Can't wait!

I'm sorry you'll have to endure that. I saw them 2 summers ago in NYC with LTJ. Both bands sucked. RBF used to be so much better live. They could only play Sell-Out at half tempo and Aaron isn't funny, he's just an asshole.

Decent bands:
Reel Big Fish
Skankin Pickle
Mustard Plug
Voodoo Glow Skulls
Suicide Machines

Need Rancid, Antiflag, Bouncing Souls, and all the older 80's hardcore bands and we would agree.

Most of the best have been mentioned in here. Can't really expand too much without breaking out some obscure shitty 9".

Bad Religion is the best, without a doubt.

Kinda surprised Social D was only mentioned a few times in a fucking punk rock thread.

As you can see from my name, Blink 182. Not stuff like All the Small Things and their hits. I like a lot of punk. Boxcar Racer, Taking Back Sunday, and The Matches are a couple of my current favorites. For ska, I really like Big D & the Kids Table.

Blink 182 has and probably always will be my favorite band. I have seen Mark and Travis's new band +44 twice and Angels and Airwaves twice as well.

Here is an awesome Blink song that everyone should give a listen:
