Lindsey Graham next VP candidate

After watching this guy a few times on Hardball and Meet the Press, I've been very very impressed. He's a conservative, but he's got a very pragmatic (as opposed to ideological) tone. He's a future presidential candidate but I'm convinced that he's going to be the next VP candidate. He gets along well with McCain (which is rare among republicans). He'd help excite the south for a moderate like Romney/Guiliani/Hagel/Pataki. Admittingly he wouldn't add much to a Frist/Allen candidacy, but I'm pretty sure those two are too much like Bush to win this go around.

I'm not saying you have to like his views but is anybody else impressed with the way he caries himself?

He'd add honesty and integrity to a Frist/Allen candidacy. Those two are seriously a couple of political hacks.

As for the rest of what you said, I'd have to agree. I've always been a fan of Graham.

He was an early supporter of McCain in 2000 so McCain will likely get his support in 2008 in the crucial SC primary.
Graham is still very single so there will be rumors and a possible whisper campaign if he is tapped for a VeeP slot (like what his Democratic opponent tried to do in 2002). He is part of the gang of 14 on judicial filibusters and also is for amnesty for illegal immigrants putting him with McCain. He is pretty solid but looks a bit too bug-eyed to be Presidential for me.

Graham is about as reasonable as dyed-in-the-wool southern Republicans can be.

The 2006 Republican nominee (presumably) for Senate in California against Senator Feinstein is a gentleman by the name of Dick Mountjoy. Of course, the former state Senator is, ironically, against gay marriage.

Yes, he is one of my favorites too. A McCain/Graham ticket would be soooo welcome.
