When I was in Amsterdam, I was at the ANN Frank House and we waited through the 1 and a half hour line...and we get up front, and she said the CC machines are broken...and sadly we had no cash...We told her there should be a sign up!
So we went to the ATM down the block, grabbed cash, and went to the front to tell her we got our cash, and she said go back in line, then a security guy said "do IT"....like the lil good tourists we were, waited in the now 2 hour long line again...damn that sucked...almost 4 hours wasted waiting in lines. granted, that was the only line we waited in on our 16 day excursion over the pond ^_6.
There are plenty of better ways to spend your money in Amsterdam. The line was a sign from Jah.
yea I gave up on the anne frank house.. after about 10 minutes in line I concluded it would just be a house with some plaques in it and stuff I already knew. was I wrong?
Sorry, you failed hard. Despite its popularity (I know, just because something is popular doesn't make it good), the house is well worth seeing for the authentic artifacts, layout of the house and hidden passageway, video presentations and audio tour.
Among the best museums I have ever seen.
Edit: Got the 1337 post!
The problem is the person is in Amsterdam.
Why the hell would you go to a museum there in the first place?
I don't smoke weed or do drugs?
The museum ended up being worth it...after all they taught in school, they failed to mention it was 2 stories + roof/attic...My assumption was that it was just the attic, they froze there asses off...no they had bathroom, bedrooms, living room, kitchen, etc..just on the top floor past the book shelf.
They had a lot of cool little plaques that had clips from her diary. they also mentioned that she started to write the diary, then she heard on the radio that diaries found would/could be published, so she rewrote it while she was up there...I am not sure if they had the original diary or not, or if she went back and rewrote it.
but each person has there own reason to travel, I like to look at things i'd never see in the states, things I read in books..some prefer to do drugs because it's not legel here in the states, to each there own!

You should have told them that next time we might just let Germany keep their crappy country. Ungrateful tools.
haha, Amsterdam is actually really cool...hadn't seen the rest of Holland though, we took a train at night to a port and it was too dark . It looks really interested though. Amsterdam, from my perspective when I was there was just old school coolness. I loved the canals and the tall buildings....wish I could have stayed longer!
