They're all fakes. One is from Chester's old group, so it's hard to tell the difference.

Personally, I liked Reanimation and Meteora.

don't forget the tonedeaf singer and how they can't keep a beat...

yeah... they sound just like tool... haha

after watching that i'm certain that they did put in the CD and then just jump around on stage for an hour.

Yeah I checked the usual sources, definitely not real since "What I've done" doesn't match up with the song that was released.

"Tool is an American progressive rock band, formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California, when drummer Danny Carey joined the rehearsal of his neighbor, singer Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones and bassist Paul d'Amour, when nobody else would show up.[1] His decision proved to be a stroke of luck when the band turned out to become a highly successful act, "introducing dark, vaguely underground metal to the preening pretentiousness of art rock"[2] ? most notably due to their influential third release, Ænima (1996)."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nu-metal

"Nu metal, also called new metal, aggro metal or nü metal, is a musical genre that has origins in the mid 1990s. It typically fuses influences from the grunge[1] and alternative metal of the 1990s with electronic music and various heavy metal genres, most often thrash metal and groove metal."

"The sentiment was reinforced by MTV's "Return of the Rock" specials which featured Korn, Limp Bizkit, and other nu metal bands that experienced mainstream success at the turn of the century. The term "nu metal" adapted and the category began to describe bands that combined traditional metal themes with other styles such as hip-hop."

If anything, "nu metal" is a poorly defined genre. But Tool is not metal and is not hip-hop.

These attempts at trolling are pretty sad though, I wouldn't have responded other than the fact that it looked like an honest question on your part. Maybe it was, who knows.

you know, answer me this question. why do you guys all hate on numetal and music thats on the radio but love Tool? i mean, its all the same garbage, so why is Tool exempt from this hate?

because it's not. it's not even close. it's not even in the same realm.

tool is very innovative and unique in their sound. the vocals are amazing and so is the songwriting. their albums are some of the best produced albums in recent rock music. the lead singer's had formal vocal training (in fact, he was in the west point prep glee club).

linkin park, on the other hand (jesus christ... i have to pause and say that i can't fvcking believe that i even have to contrast the obvious differences between a band like tool and the shytstain on music that is linkin park) is predictable and uninteresting. it just mixes bland rock riffs with some mediocre dj sampling. the vocals are piss poor (both the asian rapper guy and the lead singer). the lyrics are so goddamn retarded and commonplace among high school angsty losers that they just aren't interesting or intelligent or good. just look through the lyrics and it's oozing with " why don't my parents get me? why am i different? why do the kids at school make fun of me? booo hoo hoo"

linkin park = mix-matchy, "xtr3m3!11!", amateurish, angsty, uncoordinated

didn't listen, i'm at work. tool sounds just like every other crap band on the radio imo.

uh oh, i don't like your favorite band, i have no taste in music! lol
i'm not sure how Tool became the band to set a standard too. how did they become the best band in the world or the best musical style in the world?

do you also think there are hidden meanings or stuff like that in their songs?

talk about hypocrisy though. here you are bashing me for not liking tool or saying its crap, but you're doing the same exact thing to Linkin Park.

i don't really care if you like them or not. i just think its funny how defensive people get over a dumb band. gotta hand it to them that their fans are loyal, scarily so.

Pontifex, don?t take it to hard. Eits was just thread crapping so that he can reach lifer status.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don?t like Linkin Park it?s okay to post about it, but to reply the same message of your dislike for the band is ridiculous.

I personally have an eclectic taste for music. I don?t limit myself to one genre or generation of music. I accept it for what it is, MUSIC.

Tool, for me, is hit or miss. I really enjoyed Lateralus, and some songs from Aenima and Opiate are good, but other times (and especially when I hear them in a store on the radio or something else in "mainstream public"), I'm put off. I think Tool is good if you're able to listen in-depth. I don't think they do well on the radio, and I've never been into their claymation videos.

But I'd buy a Tool record long before I'd pick up anything by Linkin Park. I was into nu metal for maybe 2 weeks when I was 15 (that's 8 years ago), then I heard actual heavy music and realized nu metal is sludgy crap. Music is subjective, but only to a point.

tool is far from my favorite band...

there are no hidden messages in their songs. they don't need to hide messages.

there's no hypocrisy in explaining how tool is better than linkin park. it's like explaining to you why apple juice tastes more like apple juice than the yellow water.

it's not that the fans of tool are loyal... it's that the fans of good music are loyal. you can't say "linkin park is better than tool... tool is horrible" and not expect to get an earful.

lol, what? there's no comparison there at all.

i never said linkin park was better than tool, i said they're about the same and they're both horrible.

fans of good music? define good music - you can't because it's all subjective.

For fsck's sake, will you two jackasses make your own thread to argue about which band is in your opinion the worst band in the world.

This thread is about the new Linkin Park album, we've heard your opinions, you both think it sucks. Fine. We get the picture.

Like he does in each and every thread related to music... or even in threads not related to music. Because of course, if he doesn't like them, they are obviously not worth of putting CDs on shelves .

Obviously after releasing multiple albums and having a fan following they aren't doing anything right.

Obviously after releasing multiple albums and having a fan following they aren't doing anything right.

Britney Spears had a big fan following back in the day too; I don't see her on anyone's top "great music" list. Don't judge the quality of music or a band based on a large following, people are generally idiots.

You're pretty much the idiot here. If people are buying the album because they like the single, you're doing something right. If someone isn't going to buy the album, why should they, or anyone else, give a crap about the opinion of someone who obviously has some sort of illogical elitest complex. eits has yet to provide any solid reason why LP is horrible other than his on bantering and overly-biased opinion which just helps us show that music is subjective. Once he gets over himself and realizes this, maybe he'll stop being so pissed off all the time and actually be able to present an opinion that I might give a crap about.

Unfortunately, the troll has been fed a steady supply of food this whole thread.

Judging from the two albums they released. There was little to no innovation. They just followed the same formula from song to song. The JayZ album, although kind of cool, was just their songs mixed in with his . I used to listen to them extensively back in the day (hs). But I can't really stand listening to them anymore.
