The stuff you heard is most likely fake. Just some old grey haze (chester's band before he got to linkin park)

I think a lot of people think Linkin Park sucks because they scream. They sound TERRIBLE live, but I think their albums are great.

Their songs feature a beat and a decent melody. The beat allows you to play it on your car with your windows rolled down and it gives you a great rhythm to think at.

Tool is just a bunch of crap. Lyrics are good, but it's rock. It's about the music. If you wanted lyrics, go rap.

Tool is terrible. You have ZERO TASTE in MUSIC if you think they're good. They can go write poetry for all I care, but songs are not songs when you have that kind of crap. I'll admit Linkin Park is not an example of great talent, but they have music that works well for whatever you're doing.

I am amazed at the narrowminded listeners here.

1. LP is a good band, not good live but excellent in the studio

2. Music is very subjective.

3. I have seen Billy Joel and Elton John together and both were outstanding to the point that I was almost in tears by the end of the show.

4. I have seen Dream Theater and Queensryche and the same thing happened.

Peeps gotta open up their ears and really listen to what is coming in. So much music with great heart behind it

If you told me that promo was for a Nine Inch Nails, Staind, System of a Down, Audioslave, or Incubus album, I would have no problem believing it.

Tool often sounds like a harder and less hippy version of Rush... but they certainly aren't something that has never been done.

they were one of the best rock bands of their era, their music still rocks today
Old Metallica is unsurpassed in terms of metal
Pantera and Anthrax are also excellent
