I had the two port kit and loved it. I needed a 4 port so instead ordering one and waiting 3-4 days I went and bought a 4 port belkin. To sum it up. It is by far a lot worse then the Linksys unit. I also lose my mouse connection a little to often with the belkin and the hook ups are not as good.

So needless to say I just ordered me a 4 port linksys.
nice find..

anyone need a 4 port Belkin?

Ordered and received the compact one that was linked in the beginning of the thread.

I'm very pleased with it so far as it switches very fast and hasn't lost my intellimouse optical a single time.

Cables are good quality and I've noticed very minimal video quality loss running at 1600x1200 on a analog crt.

In summary: 2 thumbs up for a nice product at an even nicer price

Price is still $35 with free shipping, so I don't think it's a blowout or anything.

I got mine btw and like it all right except for one thing. This is my first KVM and it's hard to envision how stuff will work until you have it. I'm finding that I don't like the design of this KVM because it has cables coming out of 3 of the 4 sides of the switch. I'd rather have all the cables coming out of one end, so I don't have a freaking spider on my desk.

For those of you who have this KVM, do you put it on the desk or hide it under the desk somewhere?

got my KVM today. I was a bit worried as somebody said there is video quality degradation with this one. Have 17 Inch NEC E750 and at 1152x864 don't see anything on w2k/WIN98. When I booted in SuSE 7.3 prof. I saw some scan lines in the middle of the screen. Over all 4/5. Good buy.

I had mine off to the side.. I actually thought my 2 port Linksys worked better then my Belkin that had the cables only coming out of two sides. The cables that come with the linksys 2 port are nice and small and flexable. The Belkin didn't come with any cables and the ones I found were very bulky and didn't want to "lay down" very well.
Also with the belkin I needed to buy some male to female plugs ( or was it female to male ) as the standard KVM cables did not fit the belkin. more stuff I needed to buy to get the belkin working. but now that I got a 4 port linksys coming I can round file that belkin peice of trash.

yeah I got my KVM on the floor behind the desk. Only way this is a problem is if the "control control" doesn't work to switch from computers.

I've got two of these (using just K_M). My only complaint: I want to see the LEDs telling me which computer I'm connected to, but there's no way to mount it to a wall without using adhesives.

Well, a narrow wire-tie and tape might do it.

I got this about a week ago. I mainly work on two of my computers 90% of time. I use each for a particular task and each has its own monitor. I use a compaq keyboard and an ms optical mouse and it works perfectly for me. I don't game at all so having to use the double control key combo doesn't bother me. I actually prefer it since i can switch between my system instantenously without much fuss. Overall, I like this kvm. I bought two so i can control my other two systems as well. I don't know how i did without these things. You can't imagine what it is like to have 4 keyboards and mice. I know i could have bought a 4 port kvm but then I wouldn't be able to switch between the computers as quicky with the 2 port.

I use the belkin four port at work, my primary res is 1600x1200, it looks good, so if these are better...well it should be fine. One complaint about the belkins is I get an accasional loss of mouse, I have to double scroll lock and hit the right port and it comes back.

Speaking of which if you use tcsh alot (I do) the belkins suck ass, they seem to take over all usage of the scroll lock, so you get no scrolling back on your terminal unless your running an X session.

Got mine in and I like it too, seems to be no ghosting like I used to get with a Belkin box. My only problem is and I hope someone has an answer for is that this doesn't work with my old PS2 enabled Mac, well the monitor does just not the mouse and keyboard, even if I boot it with that port on, any ideas?

When I bought my linksys 2 port kit a few months back the cables were about 4 feet. When I just bought the 4 port I needed an additional 2 cables so I bought the 6 foot units that were on the same page as the KVM itself. Think they were $23 a piece.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just hooked up this KVM. Everything is working great including the special keyboard keys and the scroll wheel and buttons on my mouse.
