I have a question.. I got mine last Friday. I ordered the 4 port Linksys and an extra cable.. I also got 4 of these Kingston cables for locking your laptop to youe desk or something. Did anyone else get any of theses? I thought maybe it was a free gift but why would I get 4 of them.

I had mine since the 12th of September. But I finally had the second computer to use it with. Well at first it seemed to work great. But now for whatever reason my PC2 output gives very bad interference like pulse running vertical on my screen. I think I am going to have to return mine. This really bums me , I so wanted this 35$ deal to work.

Esp with loosing the mouse? Can't Stand my POS belkin. Nothing like having to reboot a computer because a company can't make a product that does what it is advertised to do.

I use the KVM switch for my win98/win2k and linux box. I have a cordless logitech wheel mouse and a cheap logitech keyboard. I haven't had any video, keyboard, or mouse problems. The only thing I don't like about it, is having a spider under my table ... hehe as one person described it as. I'm glad that people are enjoying KVM switch.

My belkin likes to BEEP loudly EVERY time I switch monitors which annoys the heck out of the wife.

i also have a cordless logitech mouse, with the thumb button. well the thumb button wouldnt work anymore when I hooked it up so I reinstalled the drivers. Well its one generic download for most logitech mice and the picture it shows isnt my mouse, but the thumb button works now. At least it does what I want it to do (double click) if I wanted to set it to a different option I would be S.O.L.

Ordered this KVM from buy.com on tuesday got it on friday.

Not bad for free shipping!

Could not be happier with this product or buy.com's service.

Cables are awesome. Much better than the pair of belkin cables I paid $16 for.

Mouse and keyboard cables are nicely color coded and labeled (cheap belkin cables aren't) which is a big deal when you have two sets of them and are trying to figure out what goes where.

No beeps and have not had my mouse freeze up yet. Belkin would loos the mouse several times a night forcing a reboot of one or both computers to get it back.

I love only hitting CTRL-CTRL to switch computers. The belkin made you hit SCRLK-SCRLK and then made you specify a screen using a number key or hit the up or down arrow to specify which direction you want to switch on. Useful on the four port model but silly on a two port KVM. Hitting three keystrokes instead of two does not sound like a big deal but do it several hundred times and you may think differently.

Switching screens is quicker with the linksys than the belkin. When you switch screens the belkin would "pause" before the mouse and keyboard were useable. Not so with the linksys. Main limfactor is the monitor resynching after loosing the signal.

Best of all: NO BEEPS. Belkin beeped every time I switched screens. Like I need a beep to tell me my entire desktop just changed?

Belkin is goin in the trash. Will never by a POS KVM from them again.

Can't die just quite yet. A couple of days ago I recieved an email from Tripplite saying I had won their promotion and my KVM cables should arrive in 6-8 weeks. Anyone else win? I've got my fingers crossed.

Got mine the other day.

First day it worked fine.
Second day, all of a sudden my keyboard quits working. So I'm thinkin "WTF?..".. I unplugged it from the KVM switch and put it right to the computer.

Then shortly after that, my monitor starts glitching out, getting darker, then lighter, all goofy looking.. then I plugged the monitor back into my box.

Haven't messed with it since, but uhm I have a feeling that I got a defective one.

I have been using this switch for about a month now and have some good and some bad comments:

Good - nice interface and no problems with inputs and outputs

Bad - My logitech cordless elite duo loses all functionality when I run it through the switch. It's just a regular keyboard now...I also used to lose my mouse on the 2nd machine. I installed the cordless software on that machine and its fine now.

Good - Size and price

Wait, I thought someone just said earlier that this model, unlike the Belkin, does not beep when you switch console. Is this not the case? Or are you referring to some other beeping? Thanks.
