wow, that is really a great price... especially since it comes with the cables. but just a note... i don't think this kvm comes with an ac adapter (some ppl have issues with non-self powered kvms).

Definately a good deal. I got one last year when this was a hot deal at $50. Good product if you can fit it under your table/desk. Takes up too much room on the surface.

This switch has pretty good reviews plus it comes with the cables

Anyone know if there's a difference between that one - PS2KVMSK, and the other one - KVM100SK, that's also available for the saem price at buy.com? Both come with cables, both are 2 port KVM, the only difference I can see is that the KVM100SK has a black case, comes with AT and serial adaptors, and can also use an optional AC adaptor. Everything else being the same, perhaps ordering the other one would be a better deal - especially if using an AC adaptor helps.

EDIT: Okay, the difference is that the KVM100SK can also use an AC adaptor - which is *NOT* supplied. Hmm, still it might work better than the stand-alone one. Still a great price either way - I bought the PS2KVMSK 6 months ago for $60 and that was a great price then.

Q - that's a great find, especially with the free shipping. I had just been looking for one at NewEgg, and almost bought one.

Great personal KVM. Picked it up on the last time hot deal round; and I'm glad I did. Just wish the price was this low last time!

I downloaded the manual for KVM100SK, and it saids this:

"A power adapter is not required, and the KVM switch is not provided with one. The KVM switch automatically draws power from the PCs connect-ed to it. If you have a special scenario which requires you to use a power adapter, you must purchase one from a computer hardware store.

So it seems KVM100SK's doesn't need a power adapter, but is optional?

I wonder which one should I get then, since people here have PS2KVMSK got no problem with it.

Seems that having more options for no more money is a better deal.

I would get this but it doesn't work with IBM products supposedly. So, I'll wait for a little while till I determine what kind of laptop my wife is going to get.

This is a REALLY sweet deal though.

I have one of these for my Win XP and Linux boxes, and am completely happy with it. But two words of warning:

1) You switch between the boxes by hitting left Ctrl key twice, it may be a problem in some situations, i.e. you use that key while playing games;

2) If you have an old style AT keyboard and use an PS2 adaptor it may not work properly and you will have to snip one of the pins, therefore voiding your warranty. However in my case it worked fine without any midifications.

Just a word of advise.

hey all I got the KVM100SK. Bought it a while back for like 80 bux... Anyways some people talk about the possibility of ghosting with KVMs due to poor quality video cables. This KVM is very nice I love it alot. no ghosting or anything. I have my resolution set at 1280X1024 and I get perfect picture..

Do you notice any degradation of video? I use a high quality Iiyama monitor and tried a KVM 6 months ago. It had an effect which caused less brightness and sharpness overall. Drove me crazy. The manufacturer told me a bunch of "fixes" then finally admitted "of course the picture won't be as good with all that extra cabling" Hmmmm.

I don't have a high quality monitor set up here. My KVM are set up with two workstations with cheapo vid cards (savage4 and tnt m64). These computers are my number crunchers so I don't look for high quality video. There isnt any bluriness nor is there any ghosting. As for less brightness hmm not sure never checked if I turn up the brightness on my monitor it gets plenty bright

Thanks for the info. buy.com had countless wonderful user reviews, so I bit the bullet and ordered it. Then I just looked at the amazon site and it got some pretty strong negative ink over there. Oh well. My buddy computer guru swears a good switcher which shows perfect monitor performance will cost hundreds of $$. I tried to cancel my order but buy.com won't let me know til tomorrow if they'll do it. If it works it's a steal.
