Linksys cable modem any good?

I was wondering if the Linksys Etherfast cable modem is any good. Also is it USB only or does it have both usb and ethernet connections?

Well, at the lab we have a Linksys Cable Router performing as a standard router and it hasn't given us any problems...
It has been working 24/7/12 for more than a year now... it's the standard 1Wlan/1 Lan port version...

You aren't going to get many people to respond to cable modem questions, because first of all, they are all about the same. You probably will not get better performance from a Toshiba vs. Motorola vs. Linksys. Secondly, most people probably rent from their ISP, only a select few have actually purchased their own.

I am personally looking at the Linksys one myself. You can get it for less than $100 at dell.com. Good deal I think....

Went out about 2 weeks ago and purchased the RCA Cable Modem. BB had both that one and the Linksys on sale for about $89 after MIR. Only reason I went with the RCA was because that's the one I was Leasing from ATT prior. Other people I've talked to have purchased the Linksys, on the basis of they already had a Linksys router and for a while it was the least expensive. None of them have anything bad to say about it. Guess it's up to you.

I too think that they are all about the same. If you check pricewatch you can pick one up a D-link one for $79 + s&h.

I have both the Linksys and D-link cable modems. They both perform well

As to your linksys ? Yes it had both USB and 10/100 Cat 5 connection. ONLY 1 can be used at a time
