linksys router, 2wire modem

Hello fellows
I have a little problem here. I have a 2wire DSL wireless modem from SBC/Yahoo (hold the laughs please) and its connected via ethernet cable to my linksys router. I have a few computers connected hardwire to the router as well. Here is my problem then. I have a computer with a wireless card in it and I would like to have it on the network. Right now it can share the DSL just like the other comps, but the network isnt working. I have no idea what to do. Is my 2wire modem acting as a modem only? and not a network sharing device? Any settings I should be aware of? Any suggestions? if more info is needed, let me know.

Alright,

I have a linksys router (not wireless, just a good old fashioned router)

I have a 2wire brand modem/access point.

3 computers running on the router (they can share files and share the DSL just fine)

1 computer has a wireless card in it, and it is able to share the DSL, but it cannot view other computers on the network

The Wireless comes directly from the Modem?

If so it is so it is one network.

The other computers are on the Linksys. Past a Router it consists as a second Network...

Congratulations you Graduated from a LAN to WAN, you have two Networks. Thus you can not share between the Wireless and the second Network.

If the Modem is also a Router, connect it to a regular port on the Linksys (basically turning the Linksys into a switch).

IPs have to be assigned manually, unless the Modem is also a DHCP server.

Or give the Linksys as a Holiday gift to a love one and get yourself a Wireless Cable/DSL Router. Many for less than $30.

everything jack said is right except we'll assume the modem has a DHCP server since it is giving out an IP to the wireless and to the linksys router.

In other words check the ip of your wireless client, it will probably have an IP like 192.168.x.x. That means the 2wire modem is giving that client a private IP. Then plug 2wire into one of the LAN ports on the linksys that way the gateway will be the 2wire modem and all your clients will be on the same network.

Guys i tried all the suggestions that you gave and still no dice. Any other suggestions?
