any advantage to getting the one with the speedbooster over this? is the speedbooster all its cracked up to be?

For "normal" usage (internet sharing), the "Speedbooster" feature is more worthless marketing than anything. You need a similarly-compatible (and non-standard) device to actual utilize that feature. However, the "GS" (Speedbooster) models, also have twice the RAM and flash ROM space internally, so if you are ever planning on using the Sveasoft or other 3rd-party firmwares in the future, the "GS" model will offer you more future expansion possibilities.

If you have a laptop with Intel wireless system then forget it, as Intel does not support the faster speeds. If you got a Broadcom chipset then it will support it. Real world speed up is 25-35%. Not big, but it does help enormously on large lan file transfers such as video files. I'll typically use my server to save tv shows for instance, and then copy them to my laptop so I can view later. These files are huge, several hundred megabytes so a little bit faster wireless lan speed goes a long way so I don't need to plug in ethernet.

Want to hook up my ReplayTV 5040's wirelessly, will this be the first step, going to "G". Is the Linksys WRT54G a router of choice for replay?, What would I need at the Replay end. Replays will be in different locations.
