Just noticed this deal is possible by using Amazon's August promotions:
- buy Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router and Linksys WPC54G Wireless-G Notebook Adapter together for $108.18 ;
- receive 20$ promotional certificate for future purchases;
- receive two rebates - $10 for each product.

Final price comes to $68.18

All details and links

Maybe not that hot, but seems better then recent similar Staples deal ($80)

P.S. I did not provide links here by 2 reasons:
- my associate id keeps appearing - I don't want to publish such links from AT;
- anyway, AT does not add its associate id to our links - so I do not do any harm to AT.
Moderator, please correct me if I am wrong.

Direct Links WITHOUT Referrals:

Router
PC Card

$20 GC Promo Info

Just because AT doesn't insert their own affiliate links doesn't mean you can spam this board with links to your site. And I think you know how to create URLs without your associate tag as well :roll:

Brad Olson,

Thanks for your censorship. In this case, please check your own signature as well.
And I asked for Moderator's opinion...

For those unfamiliar with the rules:
"What other kinds of posts are not permitted?

No SPAM!
This includes:
Links to muli-level marketing schemes such as pay-to-surf or pay-for-referral sites, whether paid in cash or premiums."

"What about my sig file?

You may post a simple link to your own business in your sig file. Please do not include specific offers for products, promotions or deals. Please do not include any links not permitted in your posts (pay-to-surf, auctions, etc.)."
In short, a link to one's own business in one's signature is permitted by the rules, whereas direct links to pay-for-referrals are not.

Thank you, ActuaryTm.

I guess I did not read this part of Rules. I will modify my sig file to meet the rules.

Fortunately, I am webmaster of the site that uses all these referrals only to cover current hosting expenses (~$100 per year - referrals for last 4 quarters were less, though). This is not a goal for chess site. And I would not loose too much if links in my signature are not so straight-forward.
But what others should do?
What rules would say about businesses based on "pay-per-referral" ?

I am taking care of chess-class.com website in my free time, as a hobby. This is not even part-time job. Deals and fillers pages are less than 5% of the site. But what if I had separate domain name for these shopping pages, like My-Every-Deal.com ? Would it be considered as my business or collection of pay-for-referral links ?

I guess, we all should be reasonable here. I was wrong not providing amazon links that day. Now I spent much more time discussing these issues.

If we spam this forum with bad deals trying to bring people to our sites - they would not come to us again anyway; they would feel cheated (boy-and-wolf story )
But if one finds something useful and publishes here, his signature, whether business, invitation to another forum or just list-of-deals page, makes reader interested. And reader should be free to visit that site. And next time he will consider AT not only as an interesting forum but also as website which connects and cross-refers interesing sites.
That's the forums are for - to keep us connected!

Brad's websites and his posts in the forum are a good example. (Usually, when I don't have time to publish some deal, I advise my friends and colleagues to check EveryDeal.com )
Except, of course, his post in this thread; that's "overdose" - to call me spamming the forum!

I actually bought the products when they where priced regularly. Can I call them and get money back or the gift certificate? It was only about 3 weeks ago.

Actually, you may succeed:
Recently I read at FW similar post - somebody called Amazon trying to receive 20$ GC for Wamsutta products (August promotion) even he bought items in July. They refused to send him $20, but did send him $5 GC - for the troubles. I guess, it depends on sales rep - whether he agrees or not and how much he is ready to agree for.
