Linux Internet Browser

I was wondering what browser you were currently using in Linux...

I just installed Mandrake 8.1 and am currently using Konqueror.

I just installed Opera... Well it said it installed.

How do I start it? I have no ideal

The main binary is placed in /usr/bin, so assuming /usr/bin is in your path, which it definately should be, just type "opera" in a console, or do it from your windowmanager.

lynx. I dont do desktop stuff with the linux box right now. I use opera in OpenBSD though, and Mozilla on Mac OS X.

I underestimated Lynx. I use just that now as I don't even have X on my linux machines anymore, especially when I need to download a file.

I use Mozilla, although it is a beast to load and install sometimes. Also, I have used Galeon a bit, and it seems quite fast.

Using lynx on two boxes now. One is a 486 and one is a 233, so I don't use the X. I like Opera though.

mozilla is full featured, nearly identical to netscape 6 (for obvious reasons)

Lynx is allways nice, but really, it doesn't do it for full time browsing these days.

There is simply too much graphical content on the web these days, like it or not.

Of course when you just wanna check out a HOWTO or something along those lines, or when simply don't have X, Lynx is the saviour

Mozilla because it's been pretty solid since 0.9.5 or so. Tabbed browsing (made popular by Opera) is a must-have feature.

Also, Mozilla (and other Gecko derivatives) is widely-regarded as the most standards-compliant browser out there.

I used to use lynx a lot to download files because Netscape has the nasty "feature" of decompressing .gz files automatically. As Sunner mentioned, lynx is less and less relevant these days. It's hard enough to convince content creators to test on Netscape or Opera or the other non-IE browsers these days. They largely have zero interest in being lynx-friendly.

i use galeon, very nice, lightweight yet very customizable and cool.

i use links more than lynx, it does colors and seems to do tables better than lynx.

dont like konqueror or opera......or nutscrape

Konqueror for me mostly. I've grown to really like it. I also like mozilla (slow) and galeon (very speedy). I find Netscape still works best for certain sites that go heavy on plugins like java...
BTW, I just installed ikons and the lightShadow theme availabe from kde-look.org and I must say that KDE (and konqueror) have never looked more gorgeous. Check it out if you haven't already.
