So, what is the 2nd best way to run a client on linux, and is there a script that will auto-run if the box is rebooted (manually of course as the box never fails on its own!)
How many folks do we have running a linux box/linux client?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

JTA, I run 2 of them. I don't use the X server either...
On my 733mhz box, I run Red Hat 73, running the Linux Client in tty3, accessed by pressing the alt-F3 buttons. This is
some sort of virtual window. CD to your Seti dir, and do the ./setiathome ect..ect.. command.
Now press alt-F1 and now your back to tty1, or where you originally started. You can run your
mail server in this VT(Virtual Terminal) and swap back and forth to check Seti.
From tty1, CD to your Seti dir, and issue the "more state.sah" command. The percent complete will
be about 10 lines or so from the top of the display expressed in decimal. .15 for 15% and so on...
I also have a dual 933 mhz PIII box that has RedHat 8.0 on it. I run Seti on tty1 and tty2, from different
directories. Seti1 and Seti2. Both instances use about 99 percent of their respective processors and I
can check on their process by CD/Seti1, then more state.sah...hehe do it a few times and it will become
old hat.
Good Luck,
and I hope this helped.
Any more questions, just ask.
