As for my real answer to this question on how to get the Lions out of the cellar:
1) Keep the current coach, he's only one year in and I was impressed at how the team kept playing for him when they were 0 - 12 and beyond.
2) Hire Dungy, not as Head Coach but Defensive Coordinator (if you can't get him get Shottenheimer
3) Obtain Drew Bledsoe from the Patriots, they don't need him anymore and Detroit need someone faster than what McMahan can develop into.
4) Draft the top Defensive Back they can get.
5) Take on the free agent market for the best Middle Line Backer available and another DB.
6) Trade Jimmy Smith for a solid wide receiver....Lamont Warren will come along fine.
7) Beef up the O-Line if possible
However with all that, they still are hurting a bit with the new conferences the Norris Division will be one of the toughest next year with the Pack, Vikes, and Bears. But you never know Moss decides not to play those two games, Farve gets a stinger, and the Bears go back to being the Bears....lol
Well Good Luck Anyway!
