There was a rumor going around that O'Bama was really a seekrit Irishman and a former member of the IRA and thats why he was friends with William Airs the terrist.

The part about lipstick was referring to the Chevy Volt. Yikes!!! Why can't GM get it right?!

?zero experience in national government, zero experience in foreign affairs. There?s no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick.?

That is a very sexist statement. He would never say that about a male candidate. They are doing the same thing they did to Hillary. Keep it up Dems!
You mean like the pitbull line?

Seriously, f-off already with the faux outrage.
Is this worse than the faux outrage over the uppity line??

Or the outrage only real when it is a Democrat being insulted?

It's not a rumor it's fact, I just don't know how him being a Muslim ties in?

Is Wright involved in this whole thing, I doubt Obama remembers any of this.

1) If he called Palin a pig via that comment, he's a friggin idiot. An idiotic moron, so to speak.
2) If he didn't mean to call Palin a pig, he's got about the worst judgement on his feet than anyone else i've ever seen in politics, even Bush, whose only gaffs are due to his speech impediment or whatever that is.

IN either case, Obama needs to sit down and not open his mouth anymore, unless he's reading verbatim off a pre-written speech that he had nothing to do with.

Physician, heal thyself. If you're going to claim the first black President of the Harvard Law Review is "idiotic," you might want to refrain from the random capitalization and misspellings.

I have used the saying a few times in my lifetime. I would not say it in referance to a woman. I do think it was pretty harmless and not big deal. I can see the right making a huge deal out of it. The media and left wing bloggers will be the ones at fault if this blows up. They put so much smear on Palin many are sensitive to even innocent comments.

If Palin can't stand up to these kind of comments how the fuck is she supposed to protect us from terrorists?

That is pretty low.

He was talking about their mantra of change, not Palin personally.

What he said is he can't eat pig because he is Muslim and his wife won't wear lipstick.

I don't know why I'm laughing at this response...in one of those moods I guess.

Anyway, typical blowing things out of proportion followed by the 'feign-outrage' crap from both sides. Nothing to see here folks. Move along. (Frankly I'm getting tired of both parties thinking most voters are so stupid we'd actually fall for this acting-up job)

HOW DARE OBAMA USE THE EXACT SAME PHRASES THAT MCCAIN USES.

Man this is getting pathetic. First that creepy sex-ed ad, now this desperate attempt to cry foul on sexism. McCain is really running his reputation into the ground in this campaign.

The best part about your reply is that all the things you said in it are so old and clichéd that they are closing in on ATPN talking points themselves.

Where did I ever say I was voting for McCain? Are you attempting to imply that criticism is only valid if it comes from someone that is supporting someone? That's awfully stupid.

Oh goodie, more feigned indignation from the party of whaaaaaa. This one takes the cake though. When you own guys says the same thing you are complaining about, you have totally lost all credibility. This is the modern day GOP, enjoy them while their show lasts, it will be over soon enough.

Well, he wasn't talking about her. He was making a general comment on their policies.

But I'll say it about her. She's a pig. She demands as much respect from me as the pope does, absolutely none. Enjoy another wannabe despot, though.

I was a bad choice of words (but in no way can be compared to you know who). I know that Obama is a very intelligent person but when I hear stuff like this and his " muslim "religion slip , it makes me wonder . Will he make these slips as president ( possibly exercising poor judgment ) ? In spite of this, I see big trouble ahead with McCain / Palin in office .

How not to run a Presidential Campaign

Rules 1-99: Never make your opponent's VP the issue. For an explanation of this rule, see below.

If you concentrate your attack on your opponent's VP, you are taking the heat off your real opponent: The guy who also wants to be President, giving him a free ride. Focus on him, not on his VP.

If you fail to understand Rules 1-99, forget about running. Maybe you are not ready. Maybe you have bad advisers; in which case, you really are not ready.

Rule 100: Decide what issues advantage you and what issues disadvantage your opponent. Convince the public that your issues are more important. If you cannot convince the public, you lose. But at least you tried. Kudos.

Rules 101-1000: Never attack a pretty woman, especially if she has kids and is faithful. Ask any divorce lawyer who wins. If you have dogs out there that want to attack her, call them off immediately. Be a hero, not a cad. Don't stand back and smirk.

Lesson over. Back to politics, hopefully not as usual. Keep checking the polls. Try this for starters.

"Lipstick on a pig" is a standard line every politician cranks out on a regular basis. Its funny and effortless. Taken in context, Obama was talking about McCain's bogus change you can believe in message. He was not talking about Palin by any stretch.

This is a prime example of the GOP using political correctness and false outrage to avoid issues and make this race a cultural war/personality choice. It's silliness raised to extreme levels.

It's especially ironic that the GOP spinmeisters would claim outrage over supposedly being compared to the pig, the most intelligent of barnyard animals, when Ms. Palin gleefully compares herself to a vicious dog in her joke.

It's time for the Obama campaign to take off the gloves. McCain and the GOP are taking merciless advantage of Obama's attempt to run a high, issues oriented campaign.

So a guy uses common terminology and now it's a big deal. Nice to see you're interested in the big issues.
Anyone who still thinks Obama has better judgement or is more intelligent than Bush needs to take a closer look.
Haha, certainly a person asserting that Obama is not more intelligent than Bush has nothing of importance to say on the matter, so this opening sentence completely nullified the rest of whatever you posted.

I just happy that biden has all but dissapeared and the messiah is stuck attacking and defended from the opposing campaign VP nominee. A real no win way to run a campaign.

(CNN) ? John McCain?s campaign said Tuesday Barack Obama?s reference to ?lipstick on a pig? to describe the Republican?s vow to bring change to Washington was offensive language, and a slap at VP nominee Sarah Palin ? despite the fact that the Arizona senator himself used the phrase last year to describe a policy proposal of Hillary Clinton?s.

Obama made the remarks at a Virginia campaign stop late Tuesday afternoon. ?John McCain says he?s about change too, and so I guess his whole angle is, ?Watch out George Bush ? except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics ? we?re really gonna shake things up in Washington,?? Obama said.

?That?s not change. That?s just calling something the same thing something different. You know you can put lipstick on a pig, but it?s still a pig. You know you can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it?s still going to stink after eight years. We?ve had enough of the same old thing.?

He then praised both McCain?s ?compelling story? and Palin?s ?interesting story,? and says his ?hat goes off? to anyone who?s looking after five kids ? ?I?ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out,? and says ?that?s why John McCain?s campaign manager [Rick Davis] said this campaign isn?t going to be about issues, this campaign is going to be about personalities.? He added a standard stump speech line, that the campaign wasn?t about ?me or John McCain or Sarah Palin or Joe Biden??

Within minutes, the McCain campaign announced a conference call focused on the remark, which they said was a deliberate reference to Sarah Palin?s line: ?You know the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick.?

In Iowa last October, McCain drew comparisons between Hillary Clinton's current healthcare plan and the one she championed in 1993: "I think they put some lipstick on the pig, but it's still a pig." He used roughly the same line in May, after effectively claiming the Republican nomination.

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers told CNN the campaign saw a ?big difference? between the two references: ?McCain was referring to a policy proposal. Obama was referring to Governor Sarah Palin. It?s obviously disrespectful and offensive?.

Who has been talking about lipstick lately? It was obvious. The crowd went crazy because of it.?

WHAT. Are you kidding me? Fuck McCain and Palin, scumbags of the century right next to Bush/Cheney.

I saw the clip of the speech where he followed up on the lipstick comment with "wrapping and old fish in new paper." easy to take out of context.

I think there is a possibility of it being a double entendre, and a little clever, but the more I think about it . . . . Why would obama compare Palin to a pig? Namecalling? It's just not his style.
