I recently purchased the above Radiator. It does not come with barbs to attach the hose to. Can some one recommend or show me which kind i need. I have 1/2 inch tube.

hi sabooya ive been following you on your cooling.

You have a thermaltake 760i bigwater no?

That radiator is alu, this radiator is copper, your going to run into corrosion nightmares if your not careful.

Care to share with me on what you have, what you want accomplished, and how much more you can spend?

On the barb question:
http://www.shoppts.com/swhifig1th1o.html <--- those will fit

However id like to make sure you get this done correctly, so can you answer the questions up top?

Alright now to give you all a bit more specifics. This is my first liquid cooling set up. I allready ran into a problem with having a 1/2 inch hose and my pump only fits 3/8. So I need to buy a new hose...

What I have is.

Swiftech MCR220-QP Liquid Cooler Radiator
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835108086

Swiftech MCP350 12 VDC Pump
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835108063

Swiftech Apogee GT CPU Cooler Block
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835108093

Reservoir- Custom made plastic and plexiglass.

Thermaltake CL-W0044 Bigwater UV Sensitive Coolant
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835106060

--------------

Now I don't mind spending a bit more money. Just I'm trying to stay cheap. All suggestions will be appreciated. Is there anything else I need?

A new top for your pump would be very much worth the investment as they help flow notably and help head a lot plus they give you barb options up to 1/2" which you really want. You could save the price of the coolant and just use water and antifreeze. The alcohol in the anti-freeze takes care of algae and you're using all copper so you shouldn't have the rapid corrosions problems of mixed metals. If on a budget I'd reccomend the HWLabs top, it's available for about $18 plus shipping.; there are other tops that do perform slightly better but, also run twice the price or more.

EDIT: oh and honestly for the price of the materials to make your own reservoir, unless you're going for a specific look the swiftech Micro-RES is a great deal.

as of right now i would recomend a top that derwin linked you to.

you can buy another set of barbs for the top and they will fit.

that way you can keep the entire system on 1/2ID.

As for the coolant, are you runing any lights inside the case? they will cause havok on pure distilled unless you flush frequently.

your gona need to split the order up :\

sorry gonna cost you a slight bit in shipping:

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ocxpforladdc1.html chose option d-tek barbs 1/2ID.

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/tysiantu1id3.html about 1 feet. Your only changing small sections.

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/dupvctu7id5o.html get arround 15 feet to be safe. Its cheap anyhow.

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/brmihocl7int1.html your going to need about 2-4. As i said when you the silver tygon i linked you to, you need to clamp it down with these. The other clear tubing, you can use zipties as clamps.

Now for petras:
http://www.shoppts.com/pepcobi1.html 2 DROPS ONLY!!! NO MORE! newbies have a habit of overdosing on this. DONT!

http://www.shoppts.com/peg11coadb4o.html If you want blue.
http://www.shoppts.com/peg12coaduvr.html If you want Red.

And then distilled water. Make sure it says distilled like this:
http://i125.photobucket.com/al...aigomorla/IMG_0385.jpg

1:10mix for pentosion G11 and distilled water. 2 Drops of PT-Nuke. Replace a small section of tubing with the Silver tygon for another nasty bacteria. <the smelly type>

The PT-Nuke should take care of the algae.

oh one more thing algae can not grow on top of copper, that means it will only grow on the tubes. When you use dyes they will deposit on the tubing after a while. Usually around 6-8 months. You'll understand what i mean when you come down that road.

uhhhh.... that store doesnt offer pentosin.

Fluid XP leaves a cakey layer on your tubing later on. Unless you get the expensive stuff @ 30 dollars.

PCIce is okey, i actually like the stuff, so if your limited on that selection, id get the pcice.

i prefer mixing my own coolant, but if your really uneasy about it, then grab the PC-ICE.

@ your diagram.. you cant.... because the cpu block is usually one of the most restrictive parts in your system.

That way more water will goto your NB then CPU. And it would shoot your performance.

Also I have a red plexi window, so im not sure what liquid i should get. I have a feeling it will all look the same anyway. Id just like for it to be a darker color.

that will work. Just make sure your reservoir is higher then the pump or your pump wont prime very well. And a Pump should never be allowed to run dry ever.

Just get any color of PC-ICE. Thats m recomendation..
