There is this coating called Liquipel which can be done to cellphones and tablets small mobile devices that makes them virtually waterproof, and I was wondering if anyone has experience with it? Also, can it be done on laptops, keyboards, etc?
Leo Laporte on TWIT.TV tested this out. Had them apply it to his iPhone and then dunked it in water and the phone died. So seems like a waste of money.
This is why I don't trust Leo with any sort of test. Nice guy and all, but no thank you.
It's not snakes oil, but nor is liquipel a miracle product.
You can't coat the insides with the product, how in the hell did you think it would work?
I know Liqiupel advertises those dunks, so it's mostly their fault. But that doesn't negate the possibilities of nanocoating like products with viable soluitions.
Wouldn't it make sense that since Leo can't get it to work, that the average joe won't either? Seems like a better made product would work regardless of who was involved with the testing.
did leo coat the outside cover or the internal electronics? i dont think just coating the cover will work. i did see a fone on gadget show( i think) which had its electronics ( insides) coated and i was working while inside a fish tank ( full of water not empty ..lol)
