I went to Rochester, NY when i was 15. Scarred for life.

I lived in Rochester for a year. It’s a nice place to live and the people are friendly.

First thing off top of my head is steak. I WANT to like it, but I've tried it many times cooked different ways and there's just something about it I don't like. Funny thing is I find it looks good, something about a big slab of meat with grill marks on it but it just taste nothing like what I expect. Gimme a hamburger and fries and I'll be happy, and it's cheaper too.

Oh and intense heat. Seems most people dream of vacationing in a hot spot or even living in one. FT noise. I rather stay here up north where it never hits a brazilion degrees. Even here I manage to sun burn pretty badly if I go in the sun for more than like half an hour.

Actually on similar train of thought, traveling. Not really a fan of travel, I prefer staycations, and any money I could spend on vacation I rather spend on my house or other things I can enjoy for more than a week. Funny thing is my parents are complete opposites they're always going on cruises and stuff and love traveling.

Talking at the movies. Laughter and shrieks of horror and maybe a little applause is the only noise I should hear from any human once the lights are out. Seems like everyone today thinks it is ok to talk to each other. THIS APPLIES TO CONCERTS AS WELL. STFU and listen to the music. I didn't pay to listen to you scream, sing off key, whistle, or talk through the whole damn show. And stop smoking your pot at concerts too while I am at it. <\old man><\get off my lawn>

Cruises are not really traveling, imho. They're more an ugly amalgamation of everything and everyone annoying and relentlessly mediocre that you should be trying to get away from by "traveling." You disembark en masse at various locations and come home thinking you've experienced different cultures.

You haven't.

It's like going to a ball game and never getting beyond the concession stands on the inner concourses.

Of course, you do have the photos to prove you've been "there." Good for you!

A large part of the appeal for cruises for a lot of people is being "on a boat"
Another major factor for some is sightseeing, especially Alaskan cruises or Canadian cruises, or some of the various River cruises in the world.

Had tons of fun Scuba diving near Cozumel, or meandering up the Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica with my grandma, brother, uncle, aunt, cousins, etc.

I do agree, for Most cruises , you are getting the watered down, tourist trap view of the destination, you don't get to immerse yourself in the culture, and you don't get to see the "real" place.

Disneyland.

Disneyland is great, except for the long lines, ticket cost, parking cost, food cost, people abusing the handicap access lines, rides not running because of "scheduled" maintenance, having to deal with speed pass, the constant Disney marketing advertisements, rude guests, the billion strollers blocking everything, people cutting into your lines or trying to stand in front of you at the parades and shows. Other than that it is such a wonderful place.
