Stepbrothers - 7/10
Funny not bad but not great. About as good as or alittle better than anchorman but much worse than Old School (my favorite WF movie)
Midnight Meat Train - 7/10
Pretty good but I didnt like the ending. If you had 2 guesses on how it was gonna end you would get it in those two.

Watched Downfall (Der Untergang) a couple of days ago. 10/10. It was riveting. Great casting and acting, particularly Bruno Ganz as Hitler. The actress who played Frau Traudl has gorgeous and very expressive eyes.

Observe and Report 5/10, I thought Paul Blart was funnier, never thought I'd think that.
I loved BAR, it's reminiscent of Seinfeld in that it's 'about nothing', but with a much darker feel. I understand a lot of people don't like it though, I think dark comedy is an acquired taste. I gave it an 8/10.Originally posted by: pontifex
Transporter 3 - 8/10
Burn After Reading - 1/10 - so horribly bad

Choke - 8/10. Like Fight Club, it's an adaptation of a Chuck Palahniuk novel and deals with the struggle to be male in our modern politically-correct world. Not quite as well done as FC but definitely an enjoyable watch.

Freedom (disc 1) - 8/10: Anime series that does not seem very popular, but I have no idea why. I think it's awesome so far, even though I'm not a big anime guy (I keep saying that, but I keep finding little gems that I like). The story takes place on the moon, where the human race seems to live now, but these kids start to investigate what happened with Earth and why they are on the moon etc....adventure ensues! I can't wait to get the next discs and finish off the series.

I watched this one recently after seeing you mention it in another post. I'm a big fan of Katsuhiro Otomo's anime and manga, but this series just didn't do it for me. I think it had real potential, but because the series is so short (7 episodes), there wasn't any room for real character development. So the main characters end up seeming kind of annoying and childish rather than heroic.
In terms of anime about near-future space flight, Planetes was about 1000 times better than Freedom IMHO.

Hmm, well maybe it will fall flat in the later episodes (I hope not) but the first 2 were great! I have little exposure to anime, so in comparison to other series' this may not be very good, but I guess I'll have to check out the one linked to see if that's the case.
