The Gamers: Dorkness Rising - 7/10 - pretty good for a low budget type of movie. Fairly funny too if you've ever played a D&D type game. I forgot to mention, there is a scene with pirates vs. ninjas!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - 8/10 - pretty good but I think it was a bit long at 2 hours, 46 minutes. Am I the only one that hated his wife? She was so annoying.
Slumdog Millionaire - 9/10 - This was really good. I liked how they kept going back and forth between present and past to tell the whole story.

I really like Cate Blanchett, but yeah, I did find her somewhat annoying in that role. I didn't find the length of the movie too bad, but it was an odd feeling with that movie as I just felt I was watching Forrest Gump 2.

Benjamin button as well.

8/10 bit long, and i just didn't get into it because i guess everyone sorta buys his aging backwards a little too easily so it doesn't sell itself. the fx were pretty good though.

i give the special features disc 10/10 though oddly enough. the behind the scenes is detailed and without the usual fluff of people endlessly complimenting each other. lotta the fx i didn't know until i saw the feature which i guess is a good thing. the de-aging of kate was subtle, and her face replacement was a bit freaky as well. and apparently she they messed with her voice and dubbed it over elle fannings as well. neat stuff. lots of cg to make New Orleans more genuine for the time period as well. theres no skimping on special features on this disc... its hours

Cloverfield 8/10

The towering inferno meets Godzilla meets Blair Witch Project.

They did a great job of conveying the huge scale of the monster and the city compared to the cast of puny humans attempting to run away. A well-done reversal of Godzilla movies where the monster looks human-sized and everything around his rubber suit is tiny.

Star Trek - 10/10

One of the best movies I've seen in a long while IMO. Not too long, not too short. AWESOME action, good story, good cast.

Zombie Town: 6/10 Its a bad movie of coarse but as far as bad zombie movies go it wasn't bad. Bad acting and decent effects. It uses the Night of the Creeps idea of zombies.

Yes Man - 7/10 - pretty good, some funny moments. wasn't there another movie that followed this premise though? can't think of it though.
Milk - 6/10 - Not quite what I was expecting. For some reason I thought the commercial I saw for it made it seem like a comedy.

With plot holes galore. It was enjoyable but no way is it a 10/10 with how messed up the story is.

Splinter 6/10 Pretty good low budget old fashioned style monster movie. Available for instant watching on netflix

Soul Men 7/10 Samuel L Jackson and Bernie Mac singing whats not to like.

The Wrestler 5/10 didn't like it as much as most people

Confessions of a Superhero 6/10 Documentary following people that dress up as superheroes on Hollywood Boulevard and pose for pictures with tourist for money. Superman and Batman are crazy. Another instant on netflix.

Yes, I agree. I give it a 7/10. I still like Wrath of Kahn better, but this was close.

Angels and Demons 6/10 Decent movie. Story doesn't hold your attention as fully as the original Davinci Code. Acting by Ewan McGregor was pretty good. The movie had lots of references to Catholicism which I may have liked more had I been a catholic.

Angels & Demons: 7/10 - Entertaining movie. I was reluctant to see it cause I just could not get into 'The DaVinci Code', but this was easy to follow. Body count was amazingly high. Ewan McGregor was the best, Tom Hanks (as good as he is) just had a boring ass character. Watch it once, walk away.

Batman Begins: 9/10 - Saw again on TV last night. Love it. I finally see what people were saying about Katie Holmes being craptastic. There are a lot of scenes where a lot of acting range is called for, and she's pretty flat. Christian Bale and Alfred (can't remember his name right now) are excellent. Love the music/theme.

I'm just curious what you thought the plot holes were? I got a giggle when they randomly threw in the "well now the future has changed, and our lives will be very different from this point on" line to attempt to cover what they could. I'm curious what was glaring aside from that. That said, I'm a TNG man, I never really caught up on TOS.

Princess Bride - 5/10 chick flick with some clever lines but nothing amusing or inspirational.

prepare to be flamed

I'll bite. The Princess Bride f'ing rocks. It's a classic! You know, I really don't think about it as a chick flick tho either.. just a goofy film that's damned entertaining with all the absurd dialogue.

What have I seen recently? Hmm.

Blindess - 2/10. Not at all what I was expecting. Yea sure, another human situation/expose on humanity movie. Next.

Star Trek - 9/10. Absolutely loved it.

Zach and Miri Make a Porno - 6/10. Not as good as other Kevin Smith / Seth Rogan movies.. but still had some good laughs.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - 9/10. I really liked it. Quite a bit. Good music. Reminded me of a lot of high school nights gone awry. Personal feelings/nostalgia probably bump it up to that 9.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) - 6/10. I enjoy older movies. They just have "that" style. Fun to watch.

The Time Machine (1960) - 6/10. See previous.

Quantum of Solace - 6/10. These new James Bond flicks are just flashy action movies. Cool action scenes but that's about it. It just doesn't do much for me.

Bottle Shock - 4/10. I'm an Alan Rickman fan, but he's barely in the movie. It was a movie worth watching to pass an afternoon, but nothing special .. nothing really lasting about it.

Chinatown: 9.5/10 - Best movie I've seen in awhile. Great performance by Nicholson. LA Confidential seems sugary and vapid in comparison.

Star Trek: 7/10 - Fun action flick. It gets a little loopy towards the end.

Meet the Robinsons - 7/10 - cute Disney animated movie about a boy inventor. Not Pixar quality but better than most non-Pixar American animation.

If you really want to know then hop over to the Star Trek thread. I don't wanna go into discussion in it here but everyone is saying there are so many.

Angels & Demons - 5/10: Pretty average, but about 2 points better than Da Vinci Code. The book was fine for what it was and this movie is fine for what it is. Nothing very memorable, a couple of laughable moments, and a very boring performance from Tom Hanks.

Sunshine Cleaning - 7/10: I have to admit I'm a sucker for this type of movie. Smallish, character-driven, dark comedies, with a lot of heart and some quirky characters. Amy Adams and Emily Blunt were both great and honestly, who doesn't like Alan Arkin?
