Hmm, I always find listening to Sentenced makes me feel less depressed
Tristania is good for dealing with pain, but doesn't make me depressing or sad either.

teatheif, you are correct that Morrissey laced his music with some perverse humor. However, it was very few and far between and I always interpreted the humor to itself be a manifestation of just such a sad state.

The Smiths/Morrisey have(has?) been perhaps the most consistently powerful/insightful pop music I have ever heard. I spent years dwelling and ruminating in the misery. Fortunately my depression went away, but I still hold those songs fondly in my heart.
