List the last repair you did or you paid someone to do to your car and how much it cost.

General maintenance does not count, unless lack thereof caused damage or unusual operation of the vehicle.

Me: $475 Clutch master cylinder started leaking. Clutch went all floppy on me. Had to get a whole new assembly. Not to bad I am sure someone here killed their engine or something.

Paint and body work...$2100 plus parts and materials.

$475 for a master cylinder?? What do you drive!? I think I paid $50-60 for mine...

Nothing special just an older car that's harder to find parts for.

Not counting the accident from when someone pulled out infront of me, the only non-maintenance repairs have been replacing worn ball joints, an O2 sensor, and a transmission tailshaft seal that we tore when replacing the clutch. Upto 105k now.

Outside from the TA, I haven't owned a car in 15 years that didn't have a factory bumper to bumper warranty.

Drop off at dealer. Collect loaner keys after stealing a donut. Profit.

Last repair was the clip that holds my sun shade in place. Free under warranty.

PS that thing is way, way too tight on at least the 2007-08 Honda Fit. I have to pull hard to dislodge it. Easier if I use both hands but that's not very safe.

AC Compressor on my maxima earlier this year. I am not including brakes per original thread. Otherwise last "repair" was probably ignition coils a couple years ago on my van.

Steering column on 2005 Malibu with 42,000 miles... Out of warranty.. cost $0.00.

They forgot to call and authorize the repair before they replaced the column. Also, these GM steering columns have had numerous issues and I think that is more the reason for the freebie. I researched on line all the news about the columns and also that GM had released a few different service bulletins on them as problem child designs.

My only hope is the new column was a new design, but most people have them go bad again. Was hoping to keep the car 10-12 years ( I bought new) before replacing... Only 5 years in so far.

Alternator. It was OEM factory reman. so I think it was around $200.

Shortly before that it was the radiator (and I decided to also do the hoses, clips, thermostat, and coolant fan switch). Don't remember the cost.

Shortly before that it was the ignition coil which died on my commute home.

And right before that, it was my transmission input shaft bearing. I decided to just swap the tranny since it was cheap enough.

I was careless on my custom bed frame work, and it was interfering with the leaf springs. I took a grinder, a 12" crescent wrench, a 4# hammer and a bar to it at a campsite.
I obtained the needed clearance.

Heat shield tightened up on exhaust, as it was rattling, and a bolt on the main block, also tightened up, as there was a very minor oil leak. Both done on warranty.

Repeated check engine lights saying there's a evap system leak. Found damaged gasket by fuel filler cap, removed metal part and resealed using gas resistant liquid gasket. Haven't had CEL come back.

Broke the sensor for the brake light on the Tacoma when my wet foot in work shoes slipped on the clutch pedal and broke the plastic harness behind the break pedal. Replaced assembly for $150. Hopefully I will get around to selling truck this weekend.

A4 had issue with airbag sensor for passenger. They replaced the whole seat pressure sensor under warranty...took them a week to get the part and repair it though. Loaner car thankfully.

No problems with the M3 yet...knocks on wood...

Shift linkage on my old Jetta. ATOT knew exactly what was up and VW fixed it free of charge.
