Right click the little play button next to the song and save it (it doesn't load correctly for me if you just normal click it).

Ok, listen to it (its a full song, although you don't need to listen to the whole thing). What's your opinion of it (more from a sound quality viewpoint)?

I'm kinda curious about something, which I'll reveal after getting a some opinions.

Didn't care for it, but that's just personal taste. I didn't notice anything stand out about the sound quality.

Sound quality was decent. Version was way too slow and plodding, it was too easy to get lost.

It was a bit "indulgent".

I enjoyed it. Nice dialog between bass and soloist. Cozy, warm timbre on the sax. I'm not Mr. Smooth Jazz, but I dug it for what it was.

Yeah, pretty much was my point. That's got to be what ~56kbps MP3 quality (its also at 33 instead of 44.1 like most music). The company focuses on well done masters. They have a couple of demo CDs that should be good (24bit/96 or better provided you have a CD player that can resolve that). Too bad more people aren't focused on doing good masters, as thats really the most important step, and we wouldn't have to debate the merits of vinyl versus CD, we'd be too busy just enjoying the music.

Someone in the thread at Head-Fi where I found out about the company made a quip about all the high quality stuff is a bunch of boring jazz.

Also, I recommend checking out some of the other samples they have (that was the lowest quality one I found as far as bitrate and sample rate. As you can imagine the cost of actually buying one of their discs is fairly high, but hey, if you're an audiophile with good equipment it doesn't make sense to keep giving it low quality crap to work with. I think its kinda a case where people would listen to it just because of the high quality (like HDTV).

I heard that song everywhere when i went to maui and had to buy the cd while I was there. His version of country roads is actually pretty good too.
