when you place your order make sure that eb lists it as 'ships in 24 hours' since thats the only way you get the msn discount. if its listed as limited supply there is no discount. will wait and see how it lists but just a heads-up i learned from trying to place an order today for a limited quantity product.

Lite-On manufactures their own drives. I had a 32x CD-ROM drive made by them, that came in my retail computer, it never worked. The company that made my computer gave me a new one about 5 times. I finally gave up. The drive just had major issues and I will never suggest Lite-On to anybody.

I seriously doubt Lite-On makes this drive. I used to own a Liteon cdrom drive and I couldn't even imagine they would be advanced enough to manufacture a 12/10/32 drive.

I didn't even hear Lite-on before, can't even find a brief detail on web to compare with plextor 12x/10x/32x, they both are paying sanyo for burnproof tech. but both drives are acturally total different structure.
Why we don't go to Onvia Plextor 12x deal for $160 shipped?

I am a happy user of this drive. I bought this drive in Europe about a month ago and I payed about $180 for it. It's a bargain if you compare it to what the plextor costs ($230). CloneCD, Nero 5 and Fireburner are the programs that currently support this drive. CDRWin does not, but that's not necessary. One problem I have is that the drive doesn't support overburning yet. It's not a big problem but quite annoying because the almost similar plextor does support overburning. LiteOn really need to make an new firmware. I already mailed them, and I hope to get an answer soon.
LiteOn is not a big name, but they do make drives for big OEM's like compaq, dell etc.
