I haven't heard of it either before this, but I did some reserach, and have found that it is a fairly good drive.

I can't find any mention of a manufacturer's warranty on these things anywhere. Since I don't read Chinese, I can't figure out what their website is saying. Anybody know what kind of warranty these come with?

LiteOns are pretty crappy. I owned a 32X cd player and it did ok for about a year and after that it read only when it seemed to feel like it. I don't suggest this brand at all. It finally crapped out!

Same site has Aopen 12x10x32 ratail pack for a little above 130.00...Its a rebadged Ricoh 7120a...No burn proof but has 4mb of buffer and comes with nero 5.0...Ricoh got great reviews going up against plextor comparable model.

I got one and I can burn 12x be on the internet and have my tvcard running with 2 oter programs down below open...no problem

The aopen 1232 is cloneCD capable....

aopen 1232 reads sub-channel data...read the reviews this is were it did better then plextor...also raw data modes

I have looked in other posts, see my message above, that it is fully clonecd and nero compatible. This person who has this drive, said that the CDRW is top notch. I agree that I have found that the LiteOn CDROMs are not quality, but through my research, I have seen that the CDRW's are very good.

I read at www.cdrinfo.com that the ricoh's have some problem reading cd's in comparison to the Plextor. They would find more errors, when there were none.

I found this Liteon drive at another retailer...... and it is supposed to be a rebadged Sanyo.

I can't confirm that as I have not bought one.... YET!

arod, I agree the overall review went to plextor...however in some areas the ricoh really shined...ie dae ripping was faster then the plextor. That's all I am saying,,,Also I don't know if that was the review I read, its been awhile...I'll check on that

Any other opinions? I have only found 2 POSITIVE comments towards their CDRW'S. I don't care if their CDROM'S are crap, just care about how their CDRW'S perform. Anyone out there have a negative experience with a the LiteOn 12/10/32 (or positive).
