Is this the same Liteon drive that was on sale during the Black Friday sale? If so, it's the same price as it was on Black Friday. I don't seem to remember deals like this in the previous years. Usually, the holiday prices don't touch the Black Friday prices.
Question for all the firmware guru's out there, I picked this up today and was surprised to find a "new" Lite-on drive ver #ldw-451s inside. There is very little about this drive on the net, however I did find a couple european sites that hint this drive may have the same chipset as the 8x lite-on drive. If you find any links to info regarding flashing the firmware ect (no firmware at all for this drive on lite-on's site) Please post them up
It kind of pisses me off that Best Buy is offering this drive again for this price.Just think how all the poor saps who got up at 3:00 a.m. and went and sat out in the cold the friday after thanksgiving are going to feel when they see this. Glad I wasn't one of them.

It has been unscientifically determined that if the sixth # in the serial is an 8 it will be an LDW-451S and as Salvador stated the first clue is a round clear sticker sealing the box.Originally posted by: baloy Hey, What was your UPC code and SN on the box?

1C2C,
if you happen to have the sale paper for next week, would you mind finding out if they've got a good deal on mini DV camcorders. thinking of getting 1 this week.
Gracias!
Here is what they have listed, but I don't know if any of the prices are considered "good or great". It's BB after all. HTH.
JVC GRD9OUS $500
Samsung SC-D23 $400
Sony DCRTRV70 $1300
Sony DCRTRV22 $700
Canon OPTURA 20 $800
Canon ZR60 $379 ($50 Gift card available by mail)
All say "Before savings", but it doesn't tell you what those savings are.
Those look like their standard prices, so unless the "after savings" part gets pretty good, not hot. That sucks too, as I really want to get a Canon Optura 20.

Buy the Lite-On CDRW drive at CC for $69.99, then PM it at BB's $59.99 price. CC also gives you 2 rebates, one @ $30, the other @ $20.
***Total = $9.99 (After $50 MIR)***

On Sunday I went to Circuit City to PM the LiteOn DVD burner, the lady at customer service didn't want to PM the Best Buy after rebate price of $80, but a manager walked by and asked if there was a CC rebate on the LiteOn, she said no, he say he would going and check for a rebate, then he called her and said to go ahead and do the PM at 110%, so my total was $72.99 +taxes, as I was walking out the door the lady called me back saying a rebate was printing out, she handed me the $30 rebate form saying "I wouldn't tell if you would". $72.99 - $30 MIR = $42.99
YMMV on doing this at your local CC, but you can try. Even if they want to add on their $30 rebate to the price of the PM it's still cheaper than buying at BB.

Well.. If the 5200 is a PCI card, the 9600 would probably have to be a better card because it's AGP. I didn't know that they still made PCI cards, especially PCI gaming cards.which is better, the pny geforce fx 5200 or ati radeon 9600np (from BB black friday)?

Hey Prime,
check your local BB. I was hesitant to go to the store this morning because i thought there was no good deal on camcorders. But i ended up getting the sony TRV33 for 663 (very likely the optura you like is about the same price) plus the 2-year 0% financing. CC sells this model for 750 & a 12 mo. 0% APR.
At first, i wanted the Elura 50 (which is 616 bux) but i opted to get the sony since it has more features plus i already have a bunch of Memory stick. I should have check the optura also, oh well.
