Well not really, but Iv'e had bad luck with burners ever since I can remember. Back in 99 I bought a Creative 4224 CDRW drive. It worked great for about 3 months, then all of a sudden, every audio cd I made ended up having this awful static in the songs nearing the end of the disc. As the cd went on, the noise would get louder and louder in each track. I thought the drive was a dud so I sent it back to Creative, got a new one in return. Same thing happens to it 5 months later, same exact problem. After that happened, I knew it was most likely just a sh*tty drive so a I bought a Lite-On 24/10/40 burner about 2 months ago. Now believe it or not the same thing is happening with this one. Luckily I saved the reciept and box so I can just take it back and get a Plextor but my question is, does anyone know why this might be happening? There has to be a reason. My theory on this is the lens is getting dirty with dust particles because when the last Creative drive started doing this, I physically opened it up, cleaned the lens, put it back together and made a few working cd's without static but that was only temporary because the problem only returned. Any help would be appreciated on this.
