Just installed mine, but haven't burned anything yet. The tray seems a little bit flimsy compared to my liton 32x.
Do you think it's necessary to upgrade the firmware?

Thanks

What is the consensus? Should I cancel my order or send the rebates with the order page printed out from the Best Buy website?

If those are your only choices, then cancel. Sending the rebate forms with no receipts and no upcs isn't likely to get you anything but grief. You still have a month before you have to send in the rebates so you could certainly afford to wait awhile before canceling.

I would order it. I ordered my on Sunday the 10, it shipped on the 12th, I just went to my account and on the receipt it says, "Order Date, August 10". So if you order it before the 16th, I think you'll be fine. And after it arrives at your house, check the order date, if it says after the 16th, call a CSR and ask about the dates or return it to BB.

I got my drive today. Should get up enough energy to install it tomorrow sometime, lol.

I havn't bought anything online and sent a rebate in before, do you just print out a copy of the page that says "order receipt" and send it? I notice they only send a packing slip with the items.

If it doesn't come in time for the rebate ...return it!!! That's the boat I'm in.

Well I received the labeler on Wednesday and the Lite-On yesterday. Yesterday I hooked the drive up and found that the drive tray wouldn't open. No matter how many times I pressed the eject button, nothing happened. I decided to use the emergency eject routine (paper clip through hole in the front panel) and the tray released. I gently pulled it out and when I tried to gently push in back in the motor still didn't kick in. I manually pulled it out again, and this time when I tried pushing the tray back into the drive housing I felt the motor kicked in pulling the tray back in. It's been working fine ever since! Not the best way to start out with this drive, but all seems well now.

Got mine today and mailed out the rebates for the CD-RW and the Kit...the Fujis are on their way, though - looks like the 100 pack rebate has to be postmarked by the 16th of September. Plenty of time.

Thanks for the deal! This will be great for the system I'm building for my friend.

Isn't the rebate good until Sept. 16th (at least to send it in). I just ordered one and am hoping it doesn't have to be in hand on August 16th cuz that ain't happening........

Why do you "have to" use nero express?

I just called a BB CSR. He told me "As long as you order the item before or on the 16th, the rebates are still valid. Simply print out the page with your order information and include copies of that with the rebate forms" He went on to tell me, they won't offer the item on the website with the rebate forms available if it isn't possible to redeem them. He also told me the items are backordered but I should have "no problem at all" redeeming my rebates.

So I've been trying to buy this burner for the whole week and I always get "cannot complete this transaction because cannot calculate tax" How lame!!! I tried clearing my cookies and it didn't help.

I also just came back from BB to get the 100 spindle of Fuji's for 9.99 AR and I see they're now made in Taiwan! No more Taiyo Yudens! The 30pks of Fuji's were still made in Japan, but they were also 3X as expensive. Is this the end of TY's!?!?!?!?!?! (or at least affordable ones?) :Q
