You never know ...these CSRs will tell you anything to get you off the phone~

I placed an order shortly after this was posted. After putting in all the essentials related to billing and shipping I clicked the "submit order" button and the window froze.

I eventually gave up, closed the window and logged back on to check order status and I had no orders pending so I placed the order again.

Lo and behold both orders got through. I tried to contact customer service via their website which proved unsuccessful. I called customer service (30 minute wait) and he claimed it was too late to cancel! Pathetic! He said I should be able to return it to a brick&mortar store which I'll do.

As long as I had a CS rep on the phone I took the opportunity to complain about the website and how poor it works. The CSR spouted some BS to the effect that it works better because they process orders faster!! Ha!! just doesn't let you cancel those orders as fast now does it?!?

Do you already have a drive that supports the Mount Rainier format? If not, then that is your reason!

A word to the wise...

Couldn't you just take a screenshot and save that to a file?

You can't expand the rebate screen, so you would have to take many screenshots, a "print to file" might be better.

Thanks for the Credit, but I found it looking for the 52x24x52 Liteon drive that was posted on TB. I posted in the AnandTech thread (about the 4 th post down in this thread is a link) and didn't see a need to start a new one. Regardless of who get's credit, I hope everyone gets a nice drive for a great price. No need to PM or coupon or to hope for a LITEON when it IS a Liteon!

I have the rebate form files saved on my hard-drive.

Right-click on the rebate links and select "open in new window" (or copy shortcut). You get a new window with a blank page and a long address starting with "javascript". Delete the text starting at "javascript..." and up to the part that says "http://" Leave the "http://www.bestbuy.com...." text. After the url, there is a comma... delete everything afterward and including that comma. Hit enter. You will be taken to the rebate page in a normal window and can save the page as per usual.

Alternatively, you can do the same thing but by copying the shortcut from the right-click menu on the rebate links.

Or you can print to file (pdf) as mentioned above. All these things are pretty easy. The right-click -> new window -> edit url -> hit enter -> File Save As thing above is the fastest and easiest.

Holy Shiat, Batman!
Thanks for that link! Finding a decent PDF creator was on my short list of things to do. I can now check that one off, thanks to you!:beer::beer:

P.S. I already have Ghostscript and GhostView set up to replace that horribly bloated software known now as Adobe Reader. I swear that thing takes likes 45 secs to load. GV takes like 5 seconds.

\We've updated BestBuy.com, and it's better
than ever. The aisles, however,
are packed with shoppers right now.
So, grab a cup of coffee and check back soon.

To check the status of an existing order,
call Customer Care at 1-888-BEST BUY (237-8289).

Yeah they updated it so well now that it doesn't work. Trying to click any of the Contact Us links does nothing. Course you can't notify anyone of this problem because of that! Tried calling (not just for that) but finally hung up after about 30 mins of waiting.

I ordered early Sunday morning. Only the Label Kit has been shipped.
Did anyone notice on the BB site that you maybe able to return the label kit? Somthing about your receipt will be prorated? Since they're sending the items out separtely, I just may return the label kit to the B&M and get my $10 backs instead of waiting 2 months for a rebate.

I bought my Fuji's made in Japan tonite at BB. Then did an online survey for BB that printed out at the cash register. Most items checked were "somewhat dissatisfied", and worse.

Okay, I jumped on this deal too, tonight. Does anyone know how loud are these drives? What about that speed reducing feature, where it spins down the drive when accessing different kinds of data/audio? Will this drive play an audio CD at only 1X, or will I have to listen to the annoying 52x speed? My Pioneer 106s slot drive(DVD-ROM) has a speed control utility I use, which makes it a lot quieter. My Yamaha 20x CDRW sounds like a rocket taking off, when accessing certain discs!
