Well, we do have more gun deaths than almost any other "civilized" nation. And before you get your panties in a bunch, I'm not a gun grabber. I think adults without criminal records ought to be able to have guns to hunt and defend their homes.

But its a culture that makes violence "cool" that disgusts me. I think its one thing if a 60 yr old wealthy man wants to wack off with his .50

I will also add that Los Angeles City (not county) has more gun deaths than total deaths per year in Israel. Basically its more dangerous to live in LA than in one of the worst terrorist hot beds in the world.

Oh, and the pop of LA is 3.8 mil, the pop is IL is 6+ mil.

I FULLY understand that those men with .50 MGs are NOT the type of people we should be "worried" about. They are registered, class III bla bla bla

But that doesn't change that fact that the USA has more gun deaths than most other 1st world nations, nor does it change the fact that our culture celebrates violence in a way that most other civilized cultures rightly abhore.
