Yes, ignore the ad, there doesn't seem to be any complaints from last month with same scenario.

Actually in my case, all MA residents get free shipping on smaller orders. Don't know for sure if there is a minimum or not.

That's the same thing the ad said last time. The rebate form doesn't say that. If you go to the store and buy one it will print out a rebate form that has no mention of it being free w/purchase.

No additional purchase is required other than the reader for this rebate. However, acording to the rebate form and the rebate center you must purchase at Staples B&M and NOT online at Staples.com. Staples has recently ( in the past month) started differentiating rebates for purchases between their business channels with their rebate promos. Just search through the current rebate offers at Staples.com and you will see that some specifically state one business channesl such as Staples.com or Staples but not both as the place of purchase. In the past, all Staples rebates would state the rebates were valid if purchased through any Staples business channel with the wording - "at Staples stores, Staples.com or Staples Direct only" in the terms and conditions, but not any more.

This is NOT true! That is speculation based only on the wording @ the top of the rebate correct? Why would Staples.com have the LINK to the rebate RIGHT IN the product page if it wasn't available online?

GetReal, I know you don't have to buy anything but the reader to get the rebate. I was responding to fatbaby's question. I did this deal twice last time it was around

This works just by getting the reader, rebate form doesn't say anything about the mem card. Just a note on who ever got the logitech dual optical mouse from Staples 2 wks ago w/rebate, my local Staples just dropped the price from $49.98 to $39.98. So take your receipt back and get another $10 off w/tax.

Great deal - Campbell, CA Staples has tons of these left (12 I think) and they are all in the back - so ask for them... I threw in the 20pk of Staples-brand CDR's for $10.88, added a $10 off $40 coupon, and walked out the door paying $33.41 (-$30 MIR)

Thanks for pointing out the loophole about not needing to buy the memory to get the reader free after MIR. I would not have known this, and in fact, have passed up this offer in the past b/c the memory was too expensive. I also got a cool story out of this. After getting the reader at Staples, I drove over to a nearby Wegmans to get some beer and whatnot. Well when I came back to my car with the groceries I saw something on my trunklid that looked like a leaf. When I popped open my trunk this thing rolled down into my trunk and started to move! I got so startled. It turns out it was two bats of some type having hot and heavy s e x in my trunk! Long story short, the Weggy's manager comes out and tries to scoop them up into a bucket thing but they get all pissed off and seperate and start flying all around us and eventually away. I jumped in my car and got the heck out of there. And this is all because I went to get a hot deal. Thanks for the experience.

wheres that printable $10 off $40 coupon at? pm me if needed. I didn't use a coupon when i bought all the stuff i got (got the 100pak cd-rs, britannica, sandisk reader). Heck i'll just go back and tell them to add the coupon in. if they won't then i'll tell em i'll just return it all and rebuy it. i looked all over and didn't find any printable coupons like this.

yeah! I mean, getting this CF/SM card reader implies you have CF or SM, and likely for digital camera use... any pics? hehe

Same deal fer me... just went tonite and the salesgirl was surprised... "there's a rebate for this... so... you get it for... free!?"
There were at least 6 more at my Paramus, NJ location. Hopefully the rebate does come back at a reasonable pace.
