I didn't realize they were doing this but instead of all the games being packaged into one game for one price, they are all being sold individually.

First, you have to download the Hasbro Family Game Night main game for free. This gives you the rooms and Mr. Potato Head hosting.

Then you purchase the other games for $10 and they get added (really unlocked) to the HFGN application to be launched from there.

No doubt this is a shameless cash grab, but does a game like Peggle offer much more for 800 MS points (or even Scrabble DS, which is the full $30)? I guess it depends on the multiplayer options and depth of the new modes for each of these games, but it seems like people have been happy to hand over a similar amount of [cash] for simple and addictive games in the past.

Eh, I'll pass on these. Had they spaced them out and not offered all at the same time for $10 apiece, maybe it would've seemed like a better deal that way. This way, it seems overly expensive.

I played the wii verson, I have to admit that some of them are fun including sliders (largely due to wii remote). But I can't bring myself to paying 800 MS for anything other then scrabble.

These games have other problems beyond just the price. The game is called "Family Game Night" and I suppose you could do that if everyone in your family had their own 360 and TV. Scrabble just isn't Scrabble if everyone can see what letters you have. Battleship isn't Battleship when both players can see where the pieces are placed and then the pieces disappear....turning it into a game of memory. No, because of these limitations, these games are pretty much limited to online play only which takes the family out of the game.

In short, you're probably better off buying the actual board games themselves if you want to play with your family. If you enjoy playing against others online though, the games are probably passable and enjoyable in the same way that UNO is.
