Just checked this out at compgeeks and seems to be a good deal for those with the soundblaster card and want the live drive. not as good as the livedrive II but for 29.00 + shipping who can pass up?

The cable looks like a 40 pin IDE, but someone else fried one when he tried it. You can order it from Creative if worse comes to worse.

Cool. I didn't want to spend the extra $70 and bought the X-gamer instead. Now I can upgrade. I wonder what the differences are between the X-gamer + Live Drive and the Platinum. Does anyone know if the basic card is the same?

just a fyi concerning the Requirement, they say it will not work with the "value" cards, but if your card has the header (pins) to connect to the live drive it will work. I know this for a fact (I have one). Good deal on this, if you need(want it). Its nice to have headphones and line ins on the front at the least..

Danzilla, just so you know, the X-Gamer, MP3+, and Platinum all use the same exact sound card, it's just the Live! Drive and software bundle that separate them price and performance wise. Same exact sound chipset though. Hope this helps.
