SomeA few are terrific.SomeMost suck.
If a band isn't more enjoyable live than in a studio, they're a shitty band.
Eh seeing a band live is not always the same thing as a live album. Even live albums are typically touched up, and are not a true representation of the 'experience'.
Having recorded a few live shows over the years, I've found that a band can sound good through the board and out your set up, but a live album never sounds as good even though it is a true representation.
I tend to not like live albums, but I love to see live shows, the energy/atmosphere makes it that much better.
FTFY.
The number of really great live albums can be counted on both hands of a clumsy woodshop teacher. The number of truly awful ones is nearly infinite.
