Geez, I was using the original drivers that came with Win2k cause I refused to get LW2. Just today I cracked and decided to get LW2. Now I read this like 3 hours after I install LW2!!!

I thought all the Live cards were the same except for the software packages, and the Platinum having the LiveDrive. I thought the LiveDrive only made it so you could have the jacks at the front of the computer. What could they put in this &quot;additional 3-4MB file&quot;?

sorry for being so negative. I am STILL waiting for my dxr3 win2k drivers. yes I know I could tyr the H+ Drivers but I have had no luck with them before.

The SBLive and DXR3 driver issues aren't exactly the same. To my knowledge CL has never stated when the DXR3 drivers would be released. All they ever listed on the schedule was TBA. How you're getting a date out of that is beyond me. Expect to wait quite a bit longer. How about ripping Sigma Designs as well? They released beta drivers 8 or 9 months ago and haven't updated them since.

Yes the venerable H+ beta drivers...

They suck.

They seems to function correctly, but have some sort of ACPI incompatibility that disables all power management on my KA7 system. It was the biggest mystery as to why all my PM functions just disappeared one day. I was uninstalling sh!t left and right trying to figure it out. Finally someone had the same problem here and identified the culprit--those evil H+ drivers. I disabled the device and everything's working fine.

I figure I'll live with software decompression until Sigma gets their act together. Seriously, re-writing a driver should not be this much of an ordeal.

How do you tell if it's Liveware 3 you're downloading? The stupid sblive.com site leads you throughy a licence agreement to a download Liveware for WIN2000 page but no indication of which version you're looking at. Just checked 11:25 am EST and it look like the old crap.

Well, for one, the top of the license agreement says version 2.0 and June 1998, I believe. That's an indicator!

I think the date of the licence agreement is independent of the release dates of the specific files you are downloading and therefore not an indication.

A Creative employee newsgroup posting said the LW3 download would be about 20 meg. The files comprising LW2 total about 15 meg.
