Not so sure about time keeping, but be sure to get all your vaccinations before going to another planet!

Solar days seems the most logical. You'd probably have need to know how long till night or morning each day and beyond that the duration of seasons and such.

Especially rabies, right?

Do folks that get rabies vaccine hiss at people profusely when angry?

On another topic, can you imagine living on a planet with a gravity thats slightly[like 1.25x] stronger than Earth? :awe:

Mealtime
Bedtime
Probetime

There we go, I have a system of time, and that's about all I'd need to be aware of.

IMO, the most logical would be to use a local solar-based time system. However, if the community was keeping close contact with Earth, then there'd also need to be an "Earth Standard Time" for communications...however, I don't think that'd be nearly as important as keeping local time since, if we were advanced enough to have "colonies" on other planets, we'd probably have the communications centers staffed round the clock. (plus, you'd have to take into account the "travel time" of all communications...several minutes for this solar system, maybe several thousands of years for colonies in far off galaxies...

"Earth? What the hell is Earth? Oh, that old fairy tale. There is no "Earth," only a religious myth."

Half gravity would be nice for jumping.
I remember the Quake days where the server admin would mess with the gravity. It was set so high once that getting on one of those trampoline things made you look like a stoned rabbit hopping on an electrified tin roof!

Everyone looks fat through the viewfinder.
I suppose that's why size zero is the new size four! D:

I heard the mosquitoes on Mars are crazy big! So at the very least, Lariam (to prevent Malaria.)

No, it's cats that hiss at people profusely when angry
Or, you could mistake a rattlesnake as making a hissing noise ... but it's not really that similar, so your hearing would have to be pretty "off."

Also, always be careful while snipe hunting.

It is VERY hard for a human to make an authentic cat his noise. There are people out there that can do it but they have practiced for years.

Well whatever hiss noise I'm able to make, it's quite adequate for communicating the general sentiment to cats, at least the ones back at my parents' house. The one in particular, if she did something she wasn't supposed to, a hiss would make her jump, squint, lay back her ears, and then run away. I don't think of it as a terribly difficult sound to make either.

It's difficult to do it correctly. A lot of things hiss or make spitting noises. The feline in particular is a unique noise. Fakes are easy to spot. Of course cats respond to a wide range of noises that sound similar.
