I seriously doubt there are more than half a dozen llano owners here.
I figured i'd start a thread anyhow. With the 3870 now going for $129 on newegg I'm considering buying another to take a stab at 3.6+GHz.

What is your max stable ?
anyone holding over 3.6GHz ?

please post voltages/cooling

do u have itx or (m)atx? seems most in the llano threads here have itx. wonder if it'll oc better on a atx with more phases?

A6-3650 2.9GHz 112 Base clock ~1.248vcore with MSI A75MA-G55 using a program called fusion tweaker to lower vcore since the BIOS doesn't allow me to go under 1.407vcore. G. Skill ECOs @ 1792MHz 8-9-8-28-42-2T. Can try to push higher but not really looking to resetting CMOS which is a hassle in my HTPC.

The problem is that llano at 3.6GHz is slower than a pentium G860 in anything that would require a llano-level gpu. And it costs more than a G860 plus a budget discrete gpu. So its not too big a shock that no one owns one. I would love to have one for a cheap LoL game box, but its not even cheap.

I have both
the one in my sig is matx, and does seem to oc a little better than the two itx boards I tried

damn, i was expecting/hoping the 3870k would hit 4.5+ guess I'll see what trinity brings oc wise.

I'm just trying to find out if anyone has broke 3.6GHz fully stable

not a 1.5 to 1.6+v crazy benchmark run either ...

3.7ghz stable for many days. I don't do any benchmarks, but I'm playing many very cpu-hungry games. (like paradox interactive titles, they take as much as you throw at them). Hasn't crashed a single time. GPU is on 850mhz, RAM at 1866mhz, 8 9 8 24 23. CPU voltage is set at 1.4625 I think. But CPUz often shows lower voltages. I don't remember GPU voltages, from 1.25 to 1.3. Sadly, can't run GPU at 900mhz stable By the way I hadn't even tried 3.8ghz, perhaps it'd work too. I just don't want to try 3.8ghz without knowing if I should touch any of the other voltages (chipset etc).
P.S. i've increased almost all of the voltages in BIOS, but only by very little.
PC is in my signature.

There we go !

that's what I wanted to hear
I think you and me are the only llano overclockers alive

I've never increase my voltage over 1.4625 I can try ~1.48 with 3.8ghz if you're interested? However should I increase other voltages? You have the same BIOS, so perhaps you could shed some light on what those other voltages mean?

3.8 - windows fail to start. Even with 1.5v and increased CPU PPL and one another voltage. Strange, seeing that 3.7 is so stable.

It looks like you got a good chip
most the others I saw needed more voltage (likely unsafe)
for some reason I don't feel confident with over 1.5v
I mean 1.55-1.65 are the voltages we used on 130nm not 32nm :/

lol yeah, that's absurd. Especially considering that CPU voltage is separated from GPU voltage which means that high voltages are NOT because it's an APU.

3.5ghz @ 1.4625v
847mhz gpu clock
1866 memory clock

All multiplier adjusted. I can boot at 3.6-3.7+, but it eventually blue screens running prime.

Your poll of sorts is inspiring, I think I might play around a little more this evening.

llano ipc is ~7% greater than phenom supposedly, as an aside.

excellent
yeah, the ipc increase is mostly compensation for lack of L3
doubling the L2 and some slight tweaks
ie: no real increase unless what you are running fits fine in the L2
so synthetic benchmarks and small footprint apps should love it

It seems my previously listed speeds are maximum stable... Computer will run faster, and I can get it to 133bclk, but cannot get it stable at 133.... It is possible that I could get gpu clock higher, I may play with voltages there later. at 900+mhz it eventually posts errors in occt.

the bios is likely to not recognize the 133bclk
it'll say "900MHz" but it's really 9 x bclk
try 677 for 6.77 x 133
unless you already accounted for that.

I have an asus board, it boots and runs windows fine, but instafails prime and occt, even after toying with voltages @ 133bclk... In the past I have gone as high as 1.6v core in an attempt to track down high frequency stability... I really wish the cpu would overclock to 3.8 or 4.0. . .

I'm going to build another computer in mid summer, heres to hoping that both ivy bridge and trinity are awesome, so that we have multiple good choices. Were I to do it over again I probably would have gone with an x6 and a decent dedicated video card.

I really wish to overclock GPU to 900mhz. Failed so far (works fine, but under load sometimes springs artifacts/glitches and even crashes). Will try again with higher voltages and updated drivers...

I run my GPU at 700MHz, my chip won't do 800
I really don't think we get much benefit overclocking the gpu, since we are so mem bandwidth limited already.

I'm waiting for newegg to say out of stock
then i'll pick up another 3870 when they get another shipment in
maybe one made this year will overclock higher

I didn't take a readable picture of my 3870 when I installed it, but i'm sure it was made nov or earlier

any idea how many cpu's newegg orders at a time ?
I wonder how many of these things they are selling.
would be nice if they said X in stock like some other websites.
