whenever you create a file, edit a document or make any similar changes, all this information is stored in your R.A.M. until you shut down, then it is transferred onto your HDD disk drive.

So don't hit Save in any application. It will do that when you shut down.

I remember when I had to explain that although a 3.5" disk was not bendable like a 5.25" disk, they were both still considered "floppy disks".
