My, aren't we shallow of thought and compassion? :roll:Originally posted by: raildogg
Marriage is about having offspring. That is my definition of marriage. When people of the same sex have the ability to do that, maybe I will support gay marriage, but right now, no.
Many straight couples choose not to have children for any number of reasons. Why should you give a damn if a two intelligent, productive, tax paying citizens who contribute to society who also happen to be a loving, caring gay couple, want to express their love by sharing the civil rights and responsiblities of marriage?
Why should you care if they can get better health care, transfer property, share medical decisions, and enjoy all the other benefits afforded to other intelligent, productive, tax paying citizens who contribute to society and who also happen to be a loving, caring straight couple?
If you have no rational answer for that, all you're left with is bigoted prejudice. :|
