LNT3253H Unscrambling OTA HD Channels

So I've recently run into a problem when I turn on the TV, OTA HD Channels appear to be unscrambled. When I turn it off, remove the antenna, plug the antenna back in, and turn on the TV, it works fine. Anybody else experience this? The Online Agent from Samsung told me that I may have a weak signal, but that doesn't appear to be the case since the antenna monitor shows almost full strength. If anybody can help, thanks.

BTW - I have about 3 more days to return and swap out my TV from Best Buy, which I'm highly considering. Don't know if it'll make a difference. I also live in a large city where all the major networks have strong signals around the city so I'm doubting its the signal itself.

I'm not sure what you mean by unscrambling? An OTA signal is unscrambled.

Do you just mean the signal is glitching? What kidn of antenna do you have?

Sorry I did mean the signal is glitching. I just have a regular TV antenna, but I doubt the antenna is the problem because when it does work, it works great.

Return it to best buy for a different TV or a new unit. Ironically, samsung TVs generally have fairly good tuners built in (when compared to some other brands).

Well, picking up an OTA digital signal can be tricky. When I was doing it with Dish Network (needed an antenna to get the local channels OTA in HD), my signal would be in the 90-95% range, but then would randomly drop to 0.

Try a different antenna and see if that helps. These are supposed to be among the best:

Thanks guys. I returned the TV and exchanged it. The channels show up better this time around. My power supply also doesn't make as many popping or cracking noises after I turn off the TV. I failed to mention this problem earlier because when I called Samsung they told me this was normal as the different parts contract during cooling. Regardless, I feel better with the exchange. As Slick5150 suggested, I may have to opt for a better antenna or try the bunny ears. Hopefully the digital signals will strengthen over time.
