F2P indie shooter that just launched on Steam. It looks like TF2 but plays like an arena shooter like UT. I'm really enjoying the responsive movement and gun play. Cash shop is for cosmetic items only. The weapon customization options have a lot of potential. The different game modes are also quite diverse and fun.

There have been some major matchmaking issues at launch, but they seem to be improving. I think this game could become quite popular if they continue to add content.

matchmaking issues seem to be fixed for me

I started enjoying the game once I found a weapon (beam style) that felt good for me. pretty easy to hip shoot with beam weapons.

especially like that the rolling movement is very similar to UT's dodge

wish I could keep shooting while doing a roll though. would increase skill separation in the game. oh well

some maps are large enough to accommodate 5v5 or 6v6

got a daily prize that was a cash shop item which was pretty cool

definitely recommend the game to anyone that liked the UT franchise

This game is pretty darn fun. Some great deathmatch action reminiscent of the golden age of FPS games. Anyone that enjoyed quake/doom/UT should enjoy this one

Played a round last night; was a blast. Maybe it's my years of experience with Unreal Tournament and Team Fortress but I absolutely dominated. Will definitely be playing again.

gothamhunter, I think you may be right. I played competitive quake for many years and from my first game I received MVP for 4 out of 5 games I played. It seems a lot of new gamers arent too familiar with deathmatch and are used the COD. That or I just matched up with a bunch of newbs, but the skill level does seem pretty low.

played 2 or 3 matches last night. all 3 capture the flag. was pretty fun. I had some trouble killing people, not sure what weapon types I like the best yet. I then made a healing gun and went around healing my teammates and got some good points that way.

current loadout is a healing beam assault rifle with the 2nd tier cooling and a pulse assault gun with high cap mag, bouncy projectiles, the 1st scope (recon?), and tesla.

wondering if I should change the healing gun to something something besides the beam. seems to take a long time to cool down compared to reloading.

You just need to watch the cooldown. I use the ray for my main weapon and always switch out to my rocket launcher when I get 70+%. Fire a rocket, reload, switchback.

I love playing TF2 and also played UT a loooong time back......
This looks like to be a lot of fun. DO the have server issues being overloaded with players?

don't know if they are fully fixed

had short <15s queue times and had long 5m+ queue times that I normally give up on

the non-casual competitive game mode seems to have higher skilled players to me

they seem to be a whole lot harder to do damage too as wells

not sure if higher tech levels make a significant difference or not or just that they're a lot better at making themselves hard to hit

Are you guys all using mouse/keys? I notice it has gamepad support and I like to use gamepads usually on non-competitive games though, couldn't imagine doing deathmatch with a gamepad when others are using mouse/keys.

This is my first third person shooter and it literally only took a game or two to get used to it. I do understand how some wouldnt like it though. It would make sense for them to include an option to view in first person

those players would be at a disadvantage though because having the camera several feet behind your avatar enables you to whip the camera around to see stuff you wouldnt be able to see in first person
